Nerfing Karma and buffing Illaoi wtf?

Nerfing karma (which isn't even OP) and buffing Illaoi (which is OP as hell) and can 1v9 when ahead.... makes sense!

Karma had some of the highest win and play rates across multiple elos, Illaoi didn't and still doesn't.

I'll take a guess and say that they nerfed Karma's solo lane where her problem is?

Still even in duo lane, Karma is an obnoxious champ for the opponent all around when properly played, I would bring up the hammer even if Karma isn't overtly OP anyway. But that's me.

Karma is literally OP in all 3 lanes(top tank, mid full ap/glacial augment, support), look at her stats, it isn't that much of the nerf, it's not even full revert of buffs she got in 9.12.

For me, especially Karma top is cancer, taking klepto, rushing frozen gauntlet, it makes melee champs want to kill themselves. But she is very opressive in every lane.

On the other hand, Illaoi is classic jugg, kitable monster, 1v9 vs competent enemies is impossible, I'm not main, but now, her playstyle consist of permanetly putting out pressure in sidelanes. Also it wasn't big buffs, rather change to her play style(E max is no longer good, Q is better imo).

dude illaoi is cancer, she always pushes in against every champ and it's impossible to outfarm her, she is natural pusher. only way to deal with her is gank, and if she's smart she'll use her E when you go for cs and she'll put you low enough so she can 1v2 you and your jungler

It seems like this, then you play her and it's like "Oh, I missed my E, guess I'm dead." "Oh, I pulled your soul but it isn't near a tentacle, guess I do no damage."

But i DON'T play her. all what i know that smart illaoi will save her E for the right moment when she is in melee range and can't miss it or when you go to last hit a minion.

Totally understand where you're coming from, but trust me - play her and you'll discover her weaknesses VERY quickly. Immobility and reliance on her E is a real thing.

I've played her in certain matchups top lane (she's great against Nasus) so I'm pumped about this buff. I'm excited to try an AP tank build on her.

You should, she goes from this unstoppable jugg to "Wow, you have...so many weaknesses." when you actually do.

Illoai has been trash for nearly a year, and her buffs weren't even that great, as for karma, she needed nerfs badly, she was 1st in winrates for top, middle, jungle and support....she literally couldn't do badly in a role unless you as a player were garbage, and even then, there was a good chance that the raw power the champ provided would prob make you do well

illaoi for me is the same as in the year when i quit lol 3 years ago (op as fuck). she still pushes too hard, outfarms, gets your tower first, can 1v2 you and your jungler even if you're both even and she's not too far ahead

karma isn't op? ya okay lol. As for the illaoi comment, i agree. Riot buffs champs that dont need buffing and nerfs champs that dont need nerfing.

She has seen no real play and has had a below average win rate for a while?

Woooow. I had no idea bias ran this strong

I MAIN Karma and I knew those buffs where uneeded day 1, and I’m glad she got nerfed literally just 1 patch in. (Though I do think people overreacted about her overall strength)

Meanwhile I don’t even recall the last time I saw an Illaoi in game because she’s so easy to counter.
