Literally one of the worst champions we've seen recently. Name a common mid match-up that he can win; you can't, because he's useless for anything other than KSing his team mates.
Every single AP carry and AD carry can beat him in a 1v1, because his Q + E + passive doesn't do significant damage, and he can't do any more damage for 6 seconds, after having put himself in melee range of them. This is sad.

Ekko is super strong, all pro players that I have watched (Bjerg, Wingsofdeath, etc.) all say he is way too powerful, and that Riot is going to nerf him when people realize how strong he is. I believe them as well, he is much too safe, and his passive is way too strong (I'd say it's his main source of damage).

Riven has a shield and is AD, ergo gets to build life steal. If you get hit by his W, I'm sorry, but you have a handicap. It's telegraphed by 3 seconds, and if you have any form of mobility, you can just mobility out once it's visible.

Just because Ekko doesn't stun you with his W doesn't mean he can't get a shield...
If you're not stunned and he gets the shield, you're not in range of him. If he's W'ing on himself to follow up after the shield, you can just back off for a second, so he can't jump to you. It's not hard.

OK, then use Exhaust. Also, I've found that getting anything item-wise other than basically FULL AP (with SOME AD) is absolutely terrible on him.

Cooldown Reduction and SOME AD (by some I mean if it doesn't also give AP or isn't Bloodthirster, it's probably not a good idea).

Exhaust will help even more so here because of the slowing function, as well as running Flash to help him blink back out of sticky situations when Phase Dive is down.
