Why are the servers being moved?
Why not just add a central server instead of moving. Don't get me wrong, I can play on central ping (It'll hopefully be around 50-80 for me; I'm from Vancouver) but why is it that they need to move servers instead of adding them?
http://www.riotgames.com/our-games - According to Riot, 27 million players are playing this DAILY
If we compare this to DOTA 2 - https://gyazo.com/5f917f58dc9a2727e31a80214974b32e - Not even 1 million players are playing, not even at peak (I got this picture at 12:20pm west coast, probably not the ideal NA peak time)
So why is it that DOTA 2 has a West and East coast server. Riot shouldn't have a budget issue (You'd think with that 27 million players and hundreds of skins and other things that cost us money this shouldn't be a problem). And it shouldn't be a population issue (like my sources above, we're out numbering DOTA 2 by a ton).
I understand why Riot wants to move the server to Chicago, but it doesn't make sense when there is a better solution, sure it would take a bit more effort and dough to have another server, but this would be great -
- People in the west and east would have low ping numbers
- The highest ping would still be playable (Central ; roughly what, 60-70?)
- Would cut down toxicity (probably a stupid thought, but lag makes people rage and in some cases, people watching people lag makes them rage)
- Would help balance the game without having to even tweak anything on a champion
I'm probably going to be down voted cause "SUK IT UP WEST COAST ***" but I just don't understand Riot's thought process in this.
