Can we make it official that class reworks don't work at all?
I made a similar post like this a few months ago regarding if these class updates were successful or not. Now that the tank rework has hit live and has been out for a while, after playing a few games with some of the champs (some more than others) and looking at the boards during this time, I want to say the same thing but at this point I just have to ask now: can we finally say that these class updates suck ass? Most of the time they barely hit their mark in what they're trying to achieve, and either make certain champions a lot more powerful and frustrating to deal with or have the rework completely backfire and they end up in the gutter until they can get properly reworked again.
Juggernaut update: Darius is pretty much the only one to come out of that as a great success while everyone else just fell out, in Mord's case though he was too good and just got gutted and still is buggy as shit. Now this was their first time doing this, so we can forgive them a tiny bit as they could use this to learn what to do and what not to do, but after all these other updates it still didn't click with them. Marksmen: Quinn became more cancerous top lane with roam now, Graves became ridiculously stupid powerful in the jg, and Kog eventually had to get reverted. Mage: Syndra became stupid easy to play now that anyone braindead could play her, Malz was top shit then proceed to get nerfed to what he constantly preached about (oblivion), and Vlad is... well, still Vlad. Assassins: Rengar was still the same but became a brusier assassin, cause you know we really wanted to face and play that, LeBlanc had lower window of burst but soon, as far as I can tell, fell out, Fizz is still Fizz but can still build bruiser (I know they're nerfing that build but I mean come on you still have to hate him for that build), Shaco got gutted for crit and was built AP (then nerfed in that to which he was bruiser and now that's nerfed), and so on.
But now we get to the latest rework. At first, I really thought Riot had fucking finally figured their mistakes and only focused on a few champs. To say the least, I was curious to see were they would take it, even if it was Sej, Mao and even Zac for the reworks, but I was genuinely curious. Then I saw the changes on PBE and just... lost hope. Sejuani apparently wasn't doing too great and then when they buffed her and hit live she's OP as all hell and more then likely to get nerfed down again, or even get Sejuani'd again thanks to all the power they pulled from her ult and put into her passive and E. Maokai's ult is painfully slow and in no way does it feel like a engage like the Vanguard he is. It feels more like a Warden ult. Not to mention that he's now being played as a full AP support thanks to most of his power being put into his stupid E when you land it in a bush! Zac lost his great E knock up duration (yes I know they buffing it), Q is a great idea on paper but felt lacking in damage in practice and still feels weird to use, and his ult....oh god, his ult just isn't satisfying anymore. The preview made it look fairly cool but my god it doesn't feel satisfying to use!
How is Riot satisfied with what they put out with these updates? Every time they've done this, only a few champs shine out of them, but in this case none of them did, with the exception of Sej but like I said she's more than likely going to get the nerf hammer constantly now. I'm fully sick of these class updates now, they just don't work. If anything, they feel like they create more problems with the game and champs then they do to fix them. I'd honestly rather get individual mini-reworks or full VGU for each champ at this point, cause at least then it feels like they put more thought and care into updating champs.
