If you don't zone assassins once they waste their mobility you deserve to lose lane
I'm a
main, and back in season 4/5 I used to be on the assassins are OP bandwagon. After focusing on my play, and taking months away from the game I realized I was simply just terrible at the game.
has an 18 second cooldown on his W. Many mages will be able to get off two rotations of their skills while his mobility is down. If you're able to land any CC on him while his mobility is down you'll likely drop him to half HP without him having any counterplay.
with thunderlords can deal 80% HP damage with thunderlords and a Q E W combo. This will push him out of lane giving you the first level 6 (which will win you the lane no matter what if you watch your exp, and make him waste his mobility).
is very similar, but will be maxing his mobility early (at lvl 5 he'll have it from a 16s->12s CD). Watch for him to not be in position to Q through minions, and it'll work exactly the same as Zed. The good thing about Fizz is that he's much easier to catch with your combo post 6 as he won't be able to have a second invulnerability like Zed will.
Punish both of these guys level one. Sit by your melee minions and bitch slap them. Ranged minions are currently bugged in the first wave at the moment, so you'll get free poke without taking any damage. If you don't drop them half HP lvl 1 expect to take some bad trades lvl 2/3.
If you get 6 first over these guys you need to immediately look to gank another lane, or use that to 100-0 them. As Vel'koz one combo will kill them once you're level 6 even if they're full HP. Just watch for the enemy jungler as they'll likely notice you're ahead, and might want to gank.
you still have to go in and auto attack minions, which puts you in range of his moves, even if he is not farming well with the combo he just has to poke you out of lane or just wait for the minions to be under tower, he is AD so that is a breeze for him. But yeah assuming you dodge his moves 100% of the time and don't get chunked from one combo then yeah you could probably win.
. Once you understand his range, and the overall range you'll be able to position yourself so you can trade with him while he can't trade with you. His W is slow enough that you can easily dodge the E meaning he'll only land one Q on you. One Q and all of his abilities on CD is well worth it. You'll no be able to sit in the middle of your wave for ~8 seconds (if you don't want to eat another Q) or 18s (to move back out into that ~800 range).
