Soraka; Balance Changes

I am not going to say anything here; but I will explain things as a reply if you have questions and/or confused to why Soraka needs some changes and explain my thought process behind my ideas as best as I can. But a quick note; the original intention of the Soraka rework [which was missed] was have Soraka as the dedicated healer while interacting with her opponents, what ended up happening was getting a dedicated healer but still have not fixed the issue of an over passive Soraka that does not interact with her opponents; this post is to give ideas to try to have Soraka interact with her opponent while still being machine gun healing ambulence dedicated healer champion Soraka.

Starcall (Q): Cooldown: 7/5.75/4.5/3.25/2 seconds; Cost: 40/55/70/85/100 Mana; Range: 1050 units Soraka calls forth a star to her location to send out in the target direction to deal 70/90/110/130/150(+40%AP) magic damage to the first unit struck which will be slowed by 20/25/30/35/40%(+1% per 20AP) that decays over 1.25 seconds and grant 1 charge of star energy if the enemy was a champion. If the struck unit dies by Starcall then the unit explodes to deal the same damage in an area around it and refund half the mana cost.

Astral Infusion (W): Cooldown: 1.5 seconds; Cost: 1 Star Energy plus 4% Max Health plus 25 Mana; Range: 550 units Passive: Every enemy champion struck by Starcall will grant Soraka 30/40/50/60/70(+30%AP) health which increases by 1% per 1% of health Soraka is missing.

Passive: Soraka stores up a charge of star energy every 18/17/16/15/14 seconds [lowers with cooldown reduction] up to a maximum of 4 star energies at one time.

Active: Soraka consumes a charge of star energy and some of her health to bless a friendly unit to heal them for 100/135/170/205/240(+60%AP) health (cannot be self-cast).

Equinox (E): Cooldown: 27/25/23/21/19 seconds; Cost: 70 Mana; Range: 925 units Passive: Soraka's basic attacks lower the cooldown of Equinox by 1 second; 2 seconds against champions.

Active: Soraka creates a zone at a target location for 1.5 seconds, dealing 70/110/150/190/230(+40%AP) magic damage to all enemy champions standing inside as it is cast. All enemy champions inside the zone are silenced as long as they remain on it. At the end of the zone's duration, all enemy champions inside take the same magic damage and are briefly rooted for 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2 seconds.

P.S. I didn't list her passive [Salvation] or ultimate [Wish] just for a heads up and not confuse the first change to be her passive when it is her Q [Starcall]

EDIT (1): Starcall: The slow now decays over 1.25 seconds instead of being a static amount, is now a single target skill shot that becomes AoE if it kills its target (slow is single target only), and only grants 1 star energy from striking an enemy champion rather than any unfriendly unit. Cost increased to 40/55/70/85/100 from 50/60/70/80/90 mana Damage lowered to 70/90/110/130/150 from 80/100/120/140/160

Astral Infusion: Self Starcall heal increased to 30/40/50/60/70 from 30/35/40/45/50 Star energy cap lowered to 4 from 3/4/5/6/7 and recharge cooldown to 18/17/16/15/14 from 20/19/18/17/16 seconds Heal increased to 100/135/170/205/240 from 80/120/160/200/240

Equinox: Cooldown increased 27/25/23/21/19 seconds Passive idea is now Soraka's basic attacks lower the cooldown of Equinox by 1 second, 2 seconds against champions

Your rework makes her gameplay super complicated, Why should her heal (i.e her iconic ability) take 3 different resources to use??? Her W doesn't need two passives and her E doesn't need a passive at all. She doesn't need meaningless slows (especially one that scales with AP - Lulu anyone?). And I really fail to see how your new Q would make it more interactive to play against her. 2 sec CD, 1050 Range, AOE? I would honestly just spam that like crazy from far away and would never get close to anyone at all. You can dodge her Q fairly easy now, and she can't really spam it because the mana cost is high early.

Soraka is fine, she doesn't need nerfs or buffs right now (at least not big ones) and she doesn't need another rework.

Her gameplay is not complicated at all - she gets charges to heal allies through hitting enemies with starcall and over time, very simple - and nothing is complex about an ammunition system; no player will ever be confused about "oh my goodness my spell uses some health and mana and require a charge too much info GG my tiny brain cannot compute" but i guess assuming people have any intelligence is too much to ask for

the skill shot is a line skill that stops when it hits the first enemy unit - you need to remember projectile line skill shots travel, so 1050 range as a line skill shot is a mid-range spell, neither long nor super short - in retrospect xerath Q is around ~2000 range charged up and is instant, ziggs is roughly ~1500 away because of the bounce mechanic - but yes i wanted to bring back starcall's spam spell late game, the damage has been appropriately adjusted for the cooldown and if you spam the spell constantly off cooldown you will go OOM super fast, the cost is not small by any means --- but the set up is for soraka to both position in a way to by pass the minions to get harrass off and the successful range on average would be ~650-850 away from her target, close enough to be exposed to enemy counter attack - but honestly the change from a placement skill shot to a line skill shot is for a more reliable slow late game to help peel as support soraka or kiting tool as mage soraka, the dodge ability is about the same because they both travel and both are easily to land closer you are to your target; the big difference is less burst for more sustain damage

other champions have utility AP ratios you know

Soraka is not fine because Riot was hoping to fix Soraka's fundamental problems to why she is not a fun champion to go up against; yes she is the league's dedicated healer, but the problem of her still being over passive still exists and this post is neither about buffing or nerfing the champion - what needs to be accomplished is trying to make it so that she has interactions with the game on a game to game consistent basis while trying to keep the dedicated healer identity intact

It's complicated in that her W is overloaded with two passives, her E has a passive that is fairly useless and doesn't fit her identity at all, and in the heat of a teamfight, I want to heal whoever I can that needs it most on Cooldown. When you use an ability with 1.2 sec CD late game I am not keeping track of stacks.

Do you know what also is a line skillshot that explodes with an AOE? Karma Q. Now picture Karma Q with double the slow (not even counting the slow from AP), more than half the Cooldown, more range, and less damage. THAT is what you created. That sounds terrible to play against. I would just get a tear and spam that thing with spelltheif and hug my adc to heal. That is not interactive. In fact THE Q SLOW HAS 100% UPTIME WITH CDR

I'm not sure why you think Soraka is not interactive. If you dodge the Q, you win. Simple as that. In fact, against some matchups I can go super agressive (ie. interactive) and max Q with spellthief and do a lot of damage if I play right. Sometimes I need to max W, then I am super dependent on my ADC to deal damage. Also there is nothing stopping a support Annie with Ignite from just dumping all over me with Tibbers and her combo.

i know there is full uptime slow with max cdr; it is done on purpose--- decaying slow may be better now i think about it; and passives are not complex because they are passives they automatically do what they do and the player does not need to think about a passive because it is a passive --- while the E passive is to reward Soraka to be in her basic attack range when she uses the spell- but it is in general procs off of any team silence and not just her's for potential comp synergy- it is more of a laning and roaming passive than a late game passive - late game it is starcall spam and machine gun heals

the starcall change is to give a more reliable peeling slow
