So when is something being done about Lee's 21% play rate?

Just a question. This guy's play rate is problematic.

Thresh too still has an absurd play rate. Personally I wouldn't mind champions being automatically disabled for a week if their play rate was over a threshold, say 15-20(ban rate included). Would be nice for diversity to keep the game less stale.

Not a bad idea tbh. I think when we're approaching 10% play rate it's starting to become problematic when you see these champs in every game unless banned.

What a disgustingly awful idea.

Skill ceiling too high

if you think play rate = nerfs

then i would have loved for yasuo trash players to get their champ nerfed long time ago

i mean the champion sucks unless you're actually good with him so i dunno what the problem is

He's in every single game.

So what?

I think the general idea is if a champion's play rate is crazy high then they're either a) OP and everyone is trying to play them, b) "too fun" compared to the rest of the roster, or c) too generic and works well with any comp.

Too strong can be fixed by the balance team, but too fun compared to the rest of the roster implies there's been some failings in champion design (and not all of them necessarily with the champion in question). If all champions were equally balanced, viable, and team comp was never an issue, then that would leave champion theme and how fun it is to play them the determining factors of their play rate.

I think for Lee Sin, his popularity comes from a combination of mobility, big play moments (which are fun), and his ability to fit into any team comp. Why learn 5 different junglers, each for a different team comp, when you can learn Lee Sin and be fine?

Lee Sin isn't any of the three really, except possibly fun factor. He's overplayed because he just used to be popular in pro-play events due to how flashy he looked. Everyone wants to imitate that and usually ends up failing horribly.

He's not good for every teamcomp. He himself is versatile in early only, but to different teamcomps, he's not the best option usually. Also he's just garbage in general.
