How is Windwall still in the game?

After a certain point, you completely lose the ability to interact with him in any way, as he begins clearing the wave in the duration of a Windwall. This gives no room for outplay potential, and makes him automatically win unless another lane can rotate before he gets fed.

Most melee champions (especially top laners) can interact with ranged champions. If they couldn't, top lane would be dominated entirely by ranged champions, and not Darius, Riven, Kled, Aatrox, etc.

There are really only an incredibly small number who can't, primarily Garen. Almost everything else has options, or some outplay potential.

I interact with ranged champions as Ornn, Sejuani, Qiyana, and others on a regular basis.

I do enjoy "interacting" with those weirdly tall caster minions as Nasus. They give four times as many stacks!

Here's to stacking high! And a little AP so they don't get away!

I'm sure you have time to trade during the 26 second cooldown?

Mana and minion aggro are issues you don't just trade whenever it's off cool down lol

Dude's the Hashinshin of midlane mages at this point tbh. All he's missing is any viewers on Twitch at all.

As a Evelynn Main it would be really fucking cool if I could play her in Lane.

why though? im not saying you shouldnt be able to, but the whole point of the champion is to roam around the map and make picks.

Honestly, she was a lot of fun in top in season 6, she was really good against Garren and a few other Champions when she could build Physically, she had decent wave clear and defensive abilities once. I'm really annoyed that they Took the Most Versitile Champion in the game and gave her a single niche roll.

their is a reason I had 1.6mil mastery as the Champion and I've only climbed 200,000 since the Rework. she's so ... boring now.

and to be honest she really sucks at Competing or Jg Objectives on this rework, she doesn't feel like a Jungler at all for anything BUT Roaming around and maing picks, I mean in 30 minutes of gameplay only being able to Do that One thing .... your missing a lot, Dragons, First turret Gold, Plating, list goes on. to me this game doesn't have 140+champions it's GOt Evelynn and the people I fight.

You're playing Vel'Koz, who has only two actions that Yasuo can stop with his W - your Q and your W. Q you can hit at an angle, and W has two charges so you can hit him with W after it expires. Neither of these have a longer cooldown than his W - The only exception being if you have a rank 1 W and no CDR and he has a rank 5 W, which should literally never happen since Yasuo maxes W last. Your autos, passive, E, and R are not stopped by his windwall.

You have 26 seconds to trade with him without his W up, and can basically ignore his W anyways. Literally any rework to his W would be in his favor for this lane. You could replace his W with any ability in the game and it'd help him more against a half-decent Vel than his current W does.

He can stop Vels E.

But whole Vels lane comes down to "I'll max W and I don't have to interact with enemy", so idk what his problem is honestly.

DuskDaUmbreon1 votes

How does it stop it, exactly? Cast W on his E and it stops?

Jng Account1 votes

Yeah, it's projectile, eventhough it looks similarly to Chos Q, you can see it is a projectile if you look closely. So he can just use WW to block it like any other projectile.

DuskDaUmbreon1 votes

...Huh. That's weird they'd do it like that.

Jng Account1 votes

On the other hand, it doesn't always act like projectile. When Vel dies during animation(even when projectile is mid air) it won't land...

..I have many questions.

Wow, all of this misinformation in one post.

> Q you can hit at an angle

Angled Q's at Diamond+ usually only hit when they're from the fog. They're extremely easy to avoid in lane by just moving forward to a minion. In Yasuo's case, he can dash in any direction.

> and W has two charges so you can hit him with W after it expires.

After his first item, he can clear the entire wave before Windwall expires. Which is why you can't interact with him after a point. Even if I do hit him with it, it will only eat his passive shield and nothing else.

> Neither of these have a longer cooldown than his W - The only exception being if you have a rank 1 W and no CDR and he has a rank 5 W, which should literally never happen since Yasuo maxes W last.

Too bad he can clear the wave in the duration of Windwall and have it up for the next wave.

> Your autos, passive, E, and R are not stopped by his windwall.

What the fuck even is this? My autos and E are both blocked by Windwall. The only thing that can hit him is R, and my passive requires things to hit him to stack. And the only thing that can hit him is my ult.

You clearly have zero knowledge of game mechanics, why are you even posting?

My autos

That's not true tho, Vel, Thresh and Azir(not sure about this one) can aa through ww.

Edit: Also Viktors second part of Q and Zoes passive

According to the wiki, in two separate places:

[From Trivia] Vel'Koz, AzirSquare Azir, RakanSquare Rakan and ThreshSquare Thresh are the only Ranged role ranged champions who don't use projectiles for their basic attacks.

[From Abilities, under Passive] Basic Attacks: Vel'Koz's basic attacks don't use Projectile projectiles.

As it is not a projectile, it cannot be destroyed, blocked, stopped, negated, or otherwise impeded from reaching their target by Yasuo's windwall.

There is no patch indicating that this was changed.

Velkoz autos are not stopped because they're not projectiles. They never have been. It makes it very easy to break his passive shield. How do you not know that as a vel player?
