Why do I feel like I only ever see:

I have to permaban one of these champs just to face something different. Yet, the funny thing is, even if I ban one of these two I still fight the unbanned one. Madness.

Problem of being too good of a generalist, they need weaker stats so specialists can at least compete for their particular need.

I'm the opposite :p I permaban pyke and pick into or blind vs thresh.

The reason you see these 2 is because early game is everything and engage supports are far better than any other supports and these 2 are the best of those circumstances.

well they buffed the shit out of thresh for a few patches for absolutely no reason along with playing him being a mission so that explains that, and pyke is just in general a bullshit overloaded nightmare of a champ, glad hes getting nerfed hard next patch

Are you constantly picking immobile carries? Is your team mostly filled with immobile champions in general? If so, there is your answer. Both of these champs hard counter anything that doesn't move quickly, which makes them a lucrative pick against such teams; it the player is good enough, they can also make it work with strong predictions and good outplay into mobile teams.

Also, Pyke is an overloaded, irritating, slippery, high-damage pseudo-tank, who could not be more fun to play, thus he is picked frequently.

I'm sick of seeing Thresh.

I don't think he is OP, but a little more variety would be nice.

In my opinion Pyke is just generally BS though.

I banned Udyr cus of the suddenly increasing pickrate that I suppose is appearing a lot more, only for the enemy to pick Hecarim ( Nidalee can be countered by champions with high ms but we still won due to me having more than 300 DH stacks).

Because all the rest are garbage.

Supports in general are useless now, they have zero effect on the outcome of the game. A few games ago I went 8/0 by the 20min mark support as vel. Completely useless adc, could't even last hit let alone secure a kill; but I carried the lane. We still lost... As support it doesn't matter how good I do, my performance has zero impact on game outcome.

Pyke is stupid OP and even he falls off mid-late game.

As a support main all of them are still viable.

Pyke is still new and his kit is fun to play for the users playing him (not the enemy team of course). People need to get used to playing against him, you need grevious wounds to cut down his bullshit healing, a fast chasing champion like Khazix, Jarvan, Gnar, Kled, Garen, Irelia, Leblanc etc etc, trap type champions work to like veigar, viktor aatrox. But even when you are fighting and chasing him you want to avoid his E and Q at all times. Always stay alert and don't slack off and you'll be able to beat him.

Thresh is very easy to play against, his Q is super telegraphed and is one of the easiest skillshots to dodge in the game. As soon as you hear that metallic whirling sound, just side step or flash over the hook (same for blitzcrank) the hit box that only matters is the hook itself not the chains.

You can step on thresh's lantern to deny his allies from escaping, (and yes you can be a healthy ally standing on a ally thresh's lantern so your low hp adc can die... so don't do that please).

The only support I clench my ass tight is when I'm against Lulu. Oh the amount of times she has turned my allies into fluffy animals. oooh that bitch.
