"Oh but almost 4k HP champions are not tanks, they are a very balanced way of champions, for you see, this is a very healthy design direction, for everyone must meet their End Game Fantasy because... could you imagine a world where tanks were only tanks and supports only supports? Of course not. Everyone has to be tanky and deal a lot of damage!"
Lol, Atmamog adc used to be a thing id play on twitch.
- could potentially use a slight nerf. Reevalution necessary after 6.4, when the Hydras are no longer capable of being swapped for no cost.
- has only 300 HP, and a horrendous build path (1150 combine cost).
- Contributed heavily to the mobility creep on melee champions after its introduction. Still, it is almost balanced now, no longer bringing higher defensive stats than its companions on top of the powerful passive.
- I am honestly in favor of reverting part of its changes in 5.22. Keep the steroid with the shield proc, but remove the ArPen and give it more AD. Serrated Dirk would still build into two other items with the introduction of Duskblade.
- F*ck that item. However, the nerfs on the PBE should help to emphasize its niche on high base AD melees, by putting the gold efficiency focus more towards its AD-increasing component (components give 25 AD now, so you need 100 base AD to make the upgrade without losing stats).
However, deceptively tanky champions with a high damage output have been a part of the game forever now. S2 Atmog's/Fratma's metagolem, Triforce into tanky items on Irelia, Elder Lizard/Warrior into tankiness on junglers, the history of Elise, Trinity/BotRK/Tank Jax. The problem currently are mostly Maw and Sterak's turning even AD carries highly resistant to burst, at too low a cost.

And that is not a problem at all. The problem is when other champions, namely those that are NOT intended to build tanky, start to build tanky. This means that the items are unbalanced by themselves when they allow a champion to be resillent when they are not meant to be so. And if the tanky build proves to be even more effective than the squishy build (see Akali) this also means that there is a problem with the champion's kit and that it probably needs a rework.
"BACK IN MY DAY, PROMOTE WAS A SUMMONER SPELL, NOT THIS SAS-A-FRAS BANNER BULLCRAP!"
I miss season 4, anyone agrees?
atmogs says hi
meanwhile they kill tanks faster than you kill them. too much sustain item.
