Skill or Luck?

Let me begin by saying I firmly believe that there are better players and worse players in league, I understand there is skill involved in this game.

What I don't agree with though is the MMR system. How is it in any way indicative when your mid lane goes 0-14 to a Fizz or Talon, Top goes 0-8 Then while you're happily sitting 3-0 at 12 mins end the game 3-8 because they can literally use 1 ability to pop you.

HOW is this in any way shape or form my fault? I'm all for taking responsibility but this is equivalent to a hurriicain hitting my house in antartica and someone goes. Well maybe you should of changed the weather.

If you're asking if the promo system has problems, the answer is of course. It uses a 1v1 ranking system to judge skill in a 5v5 team game. This isn't to say it is a failure, but it does have shortcomings and is incredibly frustrating.

Some games are unwinnable, and some are damn near free wins, but ultimately there are a considerable percentage of games where your individual contribution is enough to win or cost the match and those are what will determine if you will climb, fall or become stuck.

Luck affects short-term.

Skill affects long-term.

Even in the short-term, skill is more influential than luck except in extreme cases.
