Is there a reason people want Jhin to be meta again?

As a support main, I personally find Jhin to be really not fun to lane against. Though with 10 bans hitting this patch, I will probably never have to face this champion again in my ranked and normal draft games. I thought I would ask what others enjoy so much about laning against him or even just playing against him in general. I read in Meddler's "Quick Gameplay Thoughts" the other day that buffs were being planned for Jhin's Q and R, which I was surprised by, seeing as how the reason people perceived him as weak was because he did not benefit from BotRK as much as other ADC's. But with BotRK being nerfed this patch, I wonder if it might be jumping the gun a bit to buff Jhin before we see how those changes affect him, especially since I don't think the champion is as weak as many people believe. Anyways, I was just curious to hear what it is people enjoy so much about this champion. Do you enjoy playing as Jhin or playing against him? If so, what makes you enjoy him more than other ADC's?

i enjoy playing with and against a jhin as a tank support because for playing against him he's very predictable but playing with him as his support he has great follow up for when you cc the enemy carry

He is an amazing fun champion with a really unique kit and honestly I can see how you laning against him sucks but with the current meta you should have no issue

Where did you see that people want him to be meta?

His theme, his ult, almost everything about Jhin is great. Riot did a good job.

Jhin has a 25% crit damage reduction built into his passive; meaning anything he buys is already 25% less effective than any other adc buying the same items like IE, RFC, etc. This is compensated only by the fact his 4th shot always critically strikes.

There's nothing wrong with Jhin, he's very immobile compared to the likes of Ezreal, Xayah; is outranged heavily by Xayah, Cait; has less DPS than literally every other marksman except maybe Graves; his only CC is a soft CC on his trap (E), and hard CC (W) is dependent on landing an AA from Jhin or a Teammate. His only safe AoE-ish waveclear is his Q, which costs a fuckton of mana if you try to constantly waveclear with it more than your autos.

He gets heavily countered by Draven, Ashe, Cait, Vayne, Xayah, Ezreal, Lucian..

Basically the only reason Jhin was so strong / oppressive (primarily high elo), was due to the fact that last season and previously upon release, running him with DFT keystone + the lethality buff back then simply broke him in terms of raw early game power and late game damage.

Now he's at maybe B tier for marksmen, if that.

Xayah has less range then Jhin, and Jhin beats Ashe because they do the same job but he has more damage.

Ashe is way better. What are you talking about? I've played both and hands down Ashe is superior. Way more damage and can actually shred a whole team at 2/3 items.

Actually she has a rather poor two item spike. Unless she's using Bork as all ADCs do if they can, (And by using I mean abusing) she is ultra crit reliant. If you have 50% crit on her unless you have IE you still do less overall damage per shot on a normal crit from others. But I should rephrase. Jhin has more burst damage and burst beats DPS which is all she is, especially since she has lower then average damage for an ADC to make her fair since she has all her utility. And don't tell me she does hyper carry levels of damage because if she did she would be mandatory pick ban for having Kog levels of damage on top of perma CC and vision.
