At this point question isn't why he's allowed to be in this balance state. Question is why is he allowed to single-handedly murder botlane variety for this long. And no, most of the players don't give a damn about what flashy plays he can make.

He's not 'murdering bot lane variety', the boringness of most support champions is doing that for him.

I personally love Thresh's character and overall design, but what most people take him for, which I don't even have the words to describe, simply makes me want to throw up. If you want to play Thresh every game so you can be like all the other "LCS wannabes", be my quest. If you wish to not be the least bit independent, that is your choice.

Whenever a champ gets picked massively and for long periods of time, it means people are after their abnormal power budget. "Fun" is a lie 98% of the time.

Stupid bias everywhere. What's so special about Thresh's plays outside of his lantern? Exactly nothing. He is just a pile of nonsense coupled together and wrapped in the agenda called "skill".
Ulquiorra9951 votesPlayers aren't picking him because he's flashy. They are picking him because of an overloaded kit which gives a clear advantage over the enemy once you practice playing him.
And explain how he's not killing variety. He's the most contested pick in pro play. I guess that's fine, maybe he is a pick that requires skill and coordination to shin... oh wait, he has more than double pick rate than second most popular support and more than combined pick rates of bottom 16 (!) support champions. He is seeing more play by himself than more than half of the support roster combined does, for crying out loud.
And that is a good question. If I'm the last pick would i pick Janna to peel, Sona to poke or Leona to engage... Or Thresh to peel, poke and engage at the same time?
