Did zed actually get fixed in the Assassin update?

I ask this, because he hasn't gotten much play after the update, but it's hard to say if that's because of the players not being as successful on him, or they were just more interested in playing other champions until now.

I don't recall if there were any changes to zed since the pre-season patch, but now that i'm seeing him again, it just seems it's all the same issues that he had before the update are still there and were never actually addressed by riot.

they thought of him as a healthy assassin before the patch, he didnt get changed very much. just his bonus AD moved from his W (used to add a % per rank) to his ult (now adds a small flat amount + a % of his targets total AD)

Well that's just a little absurd. How is the AD mage, figher, assassin. Considered healthy by riot? [zombie-brand-facepalm]

i remember agreeing with riot at the time of the assassin rework, cant remember what i agreed with anymore though. but i think he is properly out playable and his kill windows is not insant. it also replies on skill shots

Except so much of that is handled by the kit's mechanics. Yes his kill window is decently long, but onto to the degree that his ult take time to pop or that he has to safely poke you down first.

His mobility basically removes any need to skillfully land his abilities, and the manner in which you outplay him would be... get a zonyas? I understand, on paper he is completely reasonable, yet when put into practice he still just completely dominates a lane because he's still above a vital damage threshold.

His kit is designed in a way which he really doesn't have to worry about his own flaws in many ways. Low DPS? No problem, just kill the target before they can out damage you. Melee? No problem just give him energy and aoe ranged abilities to clear and poke. All of the disadvantages which you're intended to have as an assassin are often nullified by the design of his kit. Yet he retains the same strengths of the assassin archetype.
