Just for role specialisation? Or if it makes Sheen items too strong, just make them give a % of your base AD as bonus AD. So they're only offensively valuable on high base ad melee champions, and aren't as good in both directions for our good old Quinns'n'Graves.

@op.: this isnt a bad idea. imo jaurims fist needs a buff anyways. the item makes you actually farm for stats you already payed for. and unlike other items that are an early investment that scale up into really great gold efficiency (rod of ages, tear and its items etc.) youre literally just ending up with the 150 hp you payed for when you combined the item.
it makes the thing actually pretty terrible and a bad idea to combine the item unless you absolutely need the extra slot.
its often worth more sitting on

and investing the 400 gold into an item that gives you stats right now, rather than combining it.
