Make it do physical damage now that garen has top tier shred along with darius (ideally it should just be always true damage considering how gimped it is compared to Darius ultimate if the target isn't the villain).

It sucks ass when you try ult a carry who has maw or scimitar, and it sucks super ass trying to ult a tank. Point being, it sucks ass unless it is used on a specific 1/5 of an enemy team that garen or may not even be able to get to depending on who it is.

But seriously, Garen can ult a tank that might have like 500/2600 HP or something and it does less than 300 magic damage LOL.

And no, don't suggest that garen get a void staff for stronger ults xD

Darius has no mana problems late game, AND a massive heal ability every three seconds that he can use during fights, not after.

Darius also has to it the guy 5 times to make it do damage not to mention it cost mana unlike garens and Garen is 20x tankier than Darius so they are just different champs altogether and its stupid to compare them by 1 ability.

Garen can stay in lane longer while Darius has to recall to regain mana and heal..

Only time Garen has to recall, is to buy a new item.

Darius has a way better lane phase if you're suggesting garen has a good lane phase with good sustain.

Just get over yourself... Garen is good the way he is and has better sustain in the long run.

Combine Warmog's on him and his health recovers faster.

darius can heal off q for lane regen, garen has to hide under turret for 8 years

Combine Warmog's with Garen passive and he heals full health in about 2 seconds. Darius is also mana dependent while Garen is not.

we're talking about lane, right? garen doesn't get mogs until at least 3 or 4 other items, of at all.

Darius doesn't have mana problems at all and he is self sufficient, Garen requires a decent team to make him useful in 5v5s and he still does less than Darius will

A tank with 2600 max HP is stacking resists.

Seriously, on a normal ~160 MR 4k health tank, his ult does over 1k damage.

Garen's Q is his first to max ability so he can trade in lane at the moment but the animation makes it feel so gimped when it takes roughly 1 and a half seconds to land cause of the jumping animation. It either needs more pay off in hitting someone with it or just speed up the animation, considering before the visual update the animation time was roughly half as long.

I feel his ult is in a good place since he can use it vs armor stackers cause its magic damage.

Theres no real reason for it to do physical as your targets even with bc + e shred will often still have more armor than mr. I'll admit it would make him devastating against tanks if he went item 3071 item 3036 combination though. Since ult would gain +15% damage

Include damage amplifiers, which is around 14%, and your target has 2600 HP with 200 magic resistance, then Garen needs to dunk his target at the following: If you are levels 6-10, then ult when the target is at 316 HP, which is 12.15% of his max HP. If you are levels 11-15, then ult when the target is at 412 HP, which is 15.85% of his max HP . If you are levels 16+, then ult when the target is at 518 HP, which is 19.92% of his max HP.

It clearly deals over 300 magic damage.

I was actually thinking he exact same thing, dunno why u getting downvoted , it only makes sense that his cleaver and e passive shred ur armor for the final blow to finish off, but it's magic damage ?? That's dumb. Same deal with zed , zed buys cleaver because ult + e+ auto + triple shuriken profs full cleaver stacks and makes his ultimate's pop all that more effective
