Just tried Janna...I almost fell asleep!

Maybe it was just my team comp but holy hell was playing Janna god awfully boring. Laning was hell, I literally couldn't do anything against a Sona/Varus with a Sivir ADC who never seemed to be running ricochet or her Q, then our Shaco jungle (god I hate that champ) would come down, get caught out and I'd have to blow my load on a disengage.

I can definitely see her usefulness, her peel is amazing, but I'll be more wary in future comps. The only reason I picked her was to help with the enemy Vi which I got a few chuckles out of when she Qed into my tornado.

Janna in low elo is iffy with incompetent ADs you get left and right.

In fact support is a bit iffy to play solo in lower tiers.

It could work with a competent duo, that way you guys are both on the same page when one tries for a play.

Support works for me as I can't bring myself to be th hyper aggressive, running it down mid player it takes to win in low elo. I can ping objectives all day but they'll just keep running it down mid. At least this way I can do my best to keep them alive and win fights, plus warding alone in low elo automatically puts me at an advantage.

That's IF your players use the mini map

Wards are useless, if you don't look at the map.

I mean if support is working for you, then there isn't a need to change anything.

But laning as Janna in low elo, you are pretty much relying on your AD to make all the shots, you are just there to Peel and Shield.

Well, not every champion is for everyone. I'm not gonna argue that Janna is actually interesting to play.

One of her high moments is interrupting dashes with tornado and ultimate. A smaller one is blocking poke with well timed shield (Sona's Q+Power Chord AA does about exactly the same damage as Janna's shield blocks). Disengaging is her core (and arguably only) strength, so this means you have almost no initiative. Landing fully charged tornado is nigh impossible, so she has little to no engage potential. Flash+R is a pretty good combo, but that's difficult to use and has long CD to be used as a reliable CD (not to mention being squishy).

In a passive lane, you could try AAing the enemy, sometimes with your shield on yourself. She can't play very aggressive, but her autos hurt just as much as pretty much anyone else in the early game.

Good on you for trying supports, though!
