A power-shift idea for Karma
Some time ago it was stated by a Rioter that Karma will be getting looked at for a nerf due to her being a pick or ban in the LCS. Its currently unknown whether or not they will nerf her due to her being under 49% winrate for both Mid and Support. I think the best approach would be to revert her RE change from patch 6.6 and move that power to her RW. Her W will stay the same, but with RW, it gives a good choice to peeling when dealing with a single target. I have another idea that we could also give Karma a unique skill which I'll talk about after my RW idea. . Right now Karma's W has a 2 second delay after you selected a target before you snare them. Using RW will healing you for 20% at the beginning and at the end for your missing health. On top of the heal, it increases the duration of the root. . My idea is to have RW decrease the time it takes to root someone from a flat 2 second delay to 1s/0.9/0.8/0.7/0.6 delay, which decreases as you level up your W. For this skill to not be overloaded, we'll have to remove the extra root duration and change the heal. For the root, we can increase the base about for each rank by 0.25s and as for the heal, it will change from healing 20% twice to a flat amount that heals 20/40/60/80/100 (0.4ap) per tick (3 ticks for the entire tether duration). We can increase the base amount to 25/50/75/100/125 while reducing the ap ratio to 0.3ap if it under performs. With this RW change, it will allow Mantra to come up again giving her a better end game for both CC and a bit more offensive/defensive power to work with on Mantra. . The change will look something like this: Links Karma to an enemy champion or monster, revealing them, and dealing 60/110/160/210/260 (+90% Ability Power) magic damage over 2 seconds, rooting them in place for 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2 second(s) if the link is not broken. Mantra Bonus - Renewal: Karma is healed for 20% (+1% per 100ap) of her missing health. If the link is not broken or the target dies, the root duration is increased by 0.5 - 1.25 second(s) and Karma is healed for 20% (+1% per 100ap) of her missing health. . New: Links Karma to an enemy champion or monster, revealing them, and dealing 60/110/160/210/260 (+90% Ability Power) magic damage over 2 seconds, rooting them in place for 1.25/1.25/1.75/2/2.25 second(s) if the link is not broken. Mantra Bonus - Renewal: Karma is healed for a flat amount for 20/40/60/80/100 (0.4 ap) per tick (tether ticks 3 times for the full duration). Root delay is decreased from 2 seconds to 1s/0.9s/0.8s/0.7s/0.6s. . The idea is to give Karma more reliable CC and I feel like this would accomplish that. . . My idea for Karma's shield, if it was to get revert and they still want to make the shield better, is to have it give an aura. This aura would work similar to Rammus's W (Defensive Ball Curl) where a shielded ally will reflect damage back at the enemy depending on your AP. A good name for this new passive would be: "What goes around, comes around!". Currently, after you shield is destroyed, you can see the animation linger due to the speed buff, we can use that same animation for the aura buff as well. I know this isn't the same as the shield bomb, but it may be the closest thing we'll get to it. I think the reflected damage should reduce the cooldown for Mantra the same amount as if you were autoing someone (spells reduce mantra by 2/2.5/3 while autos halve the amount). I'm thinking the ratio should be as low as 0.4ap and maybe it has no base damage. . Tell me what you think and let me know if this idea could be improved upon (ex adjustments).
