Tired of receiving abuse based on my Champion Picks
So I play a lot of Nidalee and on more than a few occasions I'll get flamed for picking her. It's gotten to the point where i can't indicate that I'll be playing Nidalee in advanced because then I'll run the risk of one of my 'teammates' banning her from me. Obviously I don't get flamed every time I pick Nidalee, but it happens on more occasions than I'd like to count - the moment I lock her in I'll have people going off on me. What makes it worse is that that I get flamed for picking her - but get absolute no gratitude or praise if I do well. I can understand that some people are prejudiced against certain champions due to past experiences and what not - but if you're going to be vocal about it, at least have the damned decency to admit when someone is doing well and positively betraying your expectations.
Quite recently I experienced a lot of bashing in lobby (because flaming someone for their champion pick before the game even starts is definitely the way towards LP Gainz), nonetheless I literally hard carried my rude team (It wasn't until the 11th kill of the game that my 100% kill participation finally broke, prior to that every kill was set up by me, and only possible because of my efforts, and even then, I continued to lead the scoreboard in both farm, damage dealt and gold while exerting tons of map pressure), so we win, and in post-lobby I get a 'report Nidalee'. Why? Because in pre-lobby when they were flaming me I sniped back with 'I'm going to carry your deadbeat asses'. So not only did they refuse to show even an inch of humility, accept that they were wrong for acting out as they did, or dare I venture - even a smidgeon of gratitude, they're instead reporting me. Great. One of them even taunted me with a 'lol I'll buy you a skin if you actually carry, lol, I swear it, lol'. Naturally he didn't follow through.
I realise that this turned into a bit of a personal rant halfway through, but seriously, dishing out abuse because of champion picks is not the way to go, and imo should be cracked down upon a lot more than it currently is. I have a friend who likes to play Yasuo, and he generally can't indicate that he wants to play Yasuo, because if he does his own team will often ban him away from him - purposefully, they'll even flaunt it in his face.
