Why is Beartrap on a Rope So Insanely Thin?

I mean, I get that most of the time it is point blank used, but Im pretty sure its like, the thinnest projectile in the entire game. Why is that from a design perspective?

Because it's a potential cc projectile that can travel through minions, if it was easy to hit it would be stupidly strong
