Anyone who has finished their Flex Queue placements please share your expereince

Curious as to how Flex Queue placements work. Based on Reddit it sounds like diamond-bronze players can randomly be matched together, which makes it sound like flex queue is based on new account starting mmr. I reread the 2017 ranked changes and do not see anywhere where Riot mentions what your starting placement mmr is based on for each queue.

Just curious what your experience has been far so I know what to expect.

So what happens if i just dont do flex placements until the season starts? And if i do them now will i have to do them again once the ranked season starts?

So I finished placements on flexQ and ended up 7/3 Gold V. Even after placements, the matchmaking is still incredibly broken. I wouldn't recommend playing flex for a week or two until Riot can get this straightened out. For example, I played a game where, according to op.gg, our team's average mmr was 1480 while the enemy team's average mmr was ~1850, so we had silvers and golds playing against plats and diamonds. Essentially, the random team with the much higher mmr will just win the game typically.

looks like you got the same as your 2016 ending dynamic queue rank. Is somewhat encouraging.

I haven't played 5v5 flex yet just 3v3. Got silver 1 which I was excited about. Was on a couple teams that were like silver 3-5 but don't think I played enough games to get rewards. Not really sure what my starting mmr was but didn't expect higher than silver 5, so was pleasantly surprised to get silver 1.

Hoping to get gold or close in 5v5 flex, but will probably wait another week or so before doing it. Thanks for your reply.
