Similar to honor, where players who are consistently VIP get some benefit to their MMR (i.e. a small MMR bonus or loss easing for consistently being VIP).

The lack of agency any single player has over the game makes consistently playing well feel unrewarding. This would at least give us some reward for playing well in roles that don't have strong influence over the first 5-10 minutes.

You'd get boned if you play a role like support or jungle where your impact isn't really acknowledged too often.
