If Executioner's Calling goes through how it is, can we please buff sustain a bit?

IIRC, then I saw a Red post a while ago, talking about the reason that MF's Grievous Wounds was removed during the Bilgewater update. They mentioned that it gimped sustain champs too much, but was useless against everything else. Somebody mentioned wanting Executioner's Calling back in that thread, and the Rioter said that if they did add it back, they'd buff sustain, to balance it out.

Well, you added Executioner's Calling back. Can we buff sustain? I main Zac, and with that new item, I basically will be only half as tanky as I am now.

As long as it is not life steal sustain that ADCs can buy yes. Or you know just make it an active that lasts x seconds or x amount of attacks so its actually healthy and has counterplay with say a 30 to 45 second cooldown and we are good.

so what do u want, a cheap ass mid game item that is a waste 2 buy it over something else? Theres no point to add an item to buff sustain, if its not life steal based (spirit visage is already in game and its used on 4-5 champs).

The reason MFs GW was nerfed was twofold

She was winning a lot of trades because her lifesteal beat yours slightly due to grievous wounds. This is not immediately obvious when you face her - or even really noticeable. It was shaved off because it was invisible power. It lets new power be added in other places.
It added a lot of dueling power, which detracted from her identity which is generally agreed to be the wombo combo ADC thanks to her ultimate.
It provided a hard counterpick to sustain champions. If kept it could become "gimp a champion by picking MF". Riot does not like hard counters in champion select.

I believe 2 and 3 were the main reasons. 1 is just an extra. EC does not have the same problems as GW on MF. It does not add unnecessary duelling power given that there is a tradeoff. You miss out on a pickaxe if you pick up EC in the short term. In the long term you miss out on Giant Slayer. While it is a hard counter to sustain champions, it also comes with the tradeoff - again you do not get Giant Slayer. Furthermore GW being available to all team comps allows sustain to be rebalanced if necessary on a case by case basis. Remember. This is the preseason. Expect shit to go flying.
