I get that people hate Yasuo but....

The fact that pretty much every top laner can beat him doesn't make him that cancerous like people suggest. Put him against Riven,Darius,Pantheon,Garen,Renekton,Illaoi,Jax,Gangplank, and Jayce and see who's laughing now.

As far as mid lane goes, which is where people would play him, Orianna,Talon,Lux,Veigar,Zed,Malzahar, and Cassiopeia are all good options for beating him up. In fact there are quite a lot of champs, but I won't list them all that can beat him.

Yasuo has an annoying late game that's true, but there are plenty of champs that have annoying late games, namely Gangplank,Chogath,Nasus,Brand,Katarina,Vayne, etc.

I've seen a garen beat a yasuo before by going cleaver lethality. it was quite funny to watch. The cs denial by garen e.

i've beaten plenty of yasuos as garen, i'll still say that a good yasuo won't get clowned on by him

I still remember around in season 4, when the enemy picks yasuo and you say to your team "I main malz." It was a free pass to get midlane.

also Nautilus is fun to use against yas you can ult him a couple of times before he gets the idea your ult can't be wind walled

Frightning1 votes

Or play Vel'Koz and auto him to death (he can't windwall those autos, despite them being ranged because they aren't projectiles).

RuFiot2 votes

The problem with yas is that he power spikes really early in the game and he late game monster in low elo

its really just a meme at this point, very few people think he is actually a good pick

The thing is all the people with assburgers who can't tell the difference between a meme and what's really going on.

also he beats illaoI

It really depends. If he's a good yasuo, he'll ult illaoi when she's like 1/3 of her health. If he's a bad yasuo he'll go in on her when he lands his Q. There are sometimes when you can be a lane bully and go in on anyone with full hp, but you need like a 1500 gold lead.

AFilthyCaitMain1 votes

Illaoi screams counterplay

So literally anyone can beat her if theyre smart enough.

AR URF1 votes

The thing with illaoi is that she's a team player. She goes in on teams when everyone has used their abilities and press R and the tentacles just mess everyone up.

AFilthyCaitMain1 votes

Yes thats true, but if youre a carry and you knew illaoi has her ult up, its easy to just sit back in fights and not fully commit until the illaoi ults. Even if she ults you can just walk away.

Big Lincoln1 votes

implying cooldowns matter in 2017

Big Lincoln1 votes

ult isn't illaoi's problem, she can his knockup and cancel the displacement

yasuo can dodge everything she throws at him in lane except for W, so getting harassed by her really shouldn't be happening to him

the reason people hate yasuo isn't because he's powerful. Its because a good Yasuo player is decisive, and Yasuo is a very fast, mobile champion with a LOT of potential. Highly skill players take advantage of his outplay potential and he is mainly only a problem in mid to lower elo. Also, champions like Yasuo have a lot going on and players don't like to read up on champions they lose to and so they never learn anything. He is annoying, and we'll leave it at that.

AR URF1 votes

As long as people can see that yasuo is not a "no skill" champion.

for me there are just 3 things why i hate yasuo:

  1. his kit scales to well with crit. and crit is very good lategame - even if u suck early.

  2. the things he talks and comment about are annoying af.

  3. the thing that his wall even block ultimates (who are sometimes skilled skillshots) is OP.

1: agreed. I doubt it would hurt him if he had to build PD, shiv and infinity.(as long as they take away the -10% crit reduction thing. 2: what do you mean? 3: I can see what you're saying, but when I block like a jinx, ashe, ezreal or draven ult, it just feels so good.

@1: thank u.

@2: when he spams his q or does his tornado-thingy he talks quickly some asian things, which sound - imo - very annoying. ("has-a-key" etc)

@3: i do see the feelings of blocking an ult for a yasuo main can give satisfaction. but i dont see the balance. if he would block all ults with his OWN ult, it would be much more balanced, imo.

Ralanr1 votes

On 3, ultimates are powerful abilities but they are not invincible. I'd argue that good ults are those that allow their enemies to have a way to defeat them than having the total power rely on the owner of the ult. That means that the right basic ability can stop an ultimate.

Sion's R is stopped by any player made terrain for example. Enough shields can prevent execution ults. And some ults can be countered by hard CC.

Yeah his windwall blocks a lot, but that's only because of how many ults are actually skill shots.

hhaavviikk1 votes

yasuo has 2 problems for me

  1. the windwall, I hate and it's frustrating
  2. his E, with no visual indicator you never know if he can dash to you or dash away from you, this is even more important when fighting has a melee as you need him in range but he can just dash back and forth all the time without knowing if you can punish him for it because invisible cooldowns on minions

Personally, I think Yasuo's problem is his low CD, his super fast dash (with also super low CD) and the fact he can QQ+E+Q+R you and it's counted as a nock up (which you can't dodge) and then you die because of his ult right after his 3rd Q. His double crit passive is also really annoying, but as long as you're far away, it won't matter how much crit he has if he can't catch up to you. Really the only problem is his super low CD which makes his combo super easy.

A counter to him is double team early (whether a teammate or JG, your pick), counter champs are also a good pick, but you'd have a much higher success rate in game if you get help early.

Apart from that, his power spike is also a huge problem, Yasuo is one of the (if not) most snowball champs there is. No matter what, he will power spike eventually unless the Yas is trash (then proceed to call him a Trashsuo).

Skill level and awareness are also good things to have if you're versing a yas.

Finally, if you really want to win lane vs a yas, get a champ with many click abilities, so you can't miss even if you tried. Proceed to get good with said champ and rek that yas's, soon to be, prolapsed butthole. Don't forget to ward everywhere, if he is missing in your lane, he is probably either taking jg farm or roaming to gank other lanes, always have vision on a Yasuo, whether good or trash.

Feel free to take this info as you want, this is just my personal experience vs him with my personal opinions.

One thing you can do (as I just realized) is to go Anivia Anivia , apart from her Q skillshot (which if stuns, you can insta kill him), she has many things which can help.

Pros: instakill ability (if you succeed the combo) stun ain't hard to land good farming potential (cancer) passive

Cons: Slow Slow moving stun easy to gank (because of slow) bad farm potential early game (practice makes perfect, so this is a semi con) Mana hungry

To counter your slow, either start with boots or get MS quints To counter your slow moving stun, either predict and zone out the enemy so they're forced to go in your stun or get closer to them To counter easy gank, either get help from allied JG or other lanes or stay back more and let farm come to you (try not to farm under tower because Anivia has slow AS and a long animation)(focus on mid game farm) To counter her mana hunger, just get items like item 3003 and/or item 3030 (item 3165 is optional)

Anyway, if yasuo is coming towards you, either ult his pathway towards you or beneath you, either way, he will be in it so you can either stun him or E him for the double damage. Use your W (your wall) if he is either too close for your comfort or is trying to run away. Early game, play passively as you can't really do much until you reach lvl 6 (or midgame)

It depends on the player, but gp can just put his barrel in minion waves.
