Taric; Rework Gameplay Concept

A support paladin that loves gems; this is what my concept will be based off of. Expect majour work to be done still with this concept and a significant changes.

Gemcraft (Passive): Taric uses a hammer of gems for his basic attacks.

If Taric attacks an ally champion with basic attacks then they are granted with 2/4/6/8/10(+3%bonus Armor) Armor for 3 seconds which stacks up to 5 times. If Taric attacks an enemy champion with basic attacks then their armor is reduced by 2/4/6/8/10(+3%bonus Armor) for 3 seconds which stacks up to 5 times. [passive ranks @levels 1/5/9/13/17]

Imbue (Q): Cooldown: 14/13/12/11/10 seconds; Cost: 100/105/110/115/120 Mana; Range: 800 units Passive: Taric gains earthen magical properties to his hammer that allows him to heal ally champions by attacking them with his basic attacks as long as he currently has an active imbue charge readied. Taric gains an imbue charge every 30/28/26/24/22 seconds up to a maximum of 5 charges at one time with each charge healing an ally champion for 60/75/90/105/120(+30%AP)(+20%bonus Armor) health and 120/150/180/210/240(+60%AP)(+40%bonus Armor) health for Taric.

Active: Taric surrounds an ally champion with powerful gems of the earth for 5 seconds that causes the champion to gain 60/70/80/90/100% increased healing and regeneration and grants 1 imbue charge. Additionally Taric moves 50% faster towards an Imbue champion.

NOTE: Obviously Taric's basic attacks cannot deal damage towards attacking ally champions and the increased healing and regeneration does increase the heal that Taric performs with his hammer on ally champions. Imbue charges charge time does lower with cooldown reduction.

Shatter (W): Cooldown: 12/11/10/9/8 seconds; 40/45/50/55/60 Mana; Range: 450 units Passive: Taric gains 10/15/20/25/30(+5%Armor) bonus Armor while Shatter is off cooldown.

Active: Taric shatters his gems around him to blind and slow by 70% to struck units for 1/1.2/1.4/1.6/1.8 seconds and deal 80/110/140/170/200(+50%AP)(+0/5/10/15/20%Armor) magic damage.

Dazzle (E): Cooldown: 20/18/16/14/12 seconds; Cost: 100 Mana; Range: 650 units Taric does an electric slide to the target enemy champion, if Taric collides with an enemy champion along the way then he and the enemy champion will stop and stuns that champion for 1 second and deal 40/50/60/70/80(+100%base AD)(+50%AP)(+25%Armor) physical damage, the stunned target is considered Dazzle'd while stunned. Additionally if Dazzle hits an enemy Taric gains capped attack speed for 2.5 seconds but his basic attacks deal half damage including damaging on-hit effects.

Taric's basic attacks against Dazzle'd units increases the stun duration by 0.5 second up to a maximum of 1.3/1.6/1.9/2.2/2.5 seconds total stun duration.

Radiance (R): Cooldown: 150/120/90 seconds; Cost: 100 Mana; Range: 850 units; Radius: 375 units Taric grants himself or target ally champion 20% damage reduction for 5 seconds and bring out a surrounding wall of impassable gems for 3.5 seconds that disallows all movement, jumps, and dashes to go past the gems for both allies and enemies. All ally champions and Taric within the circle of gem walls are granted 30/40/50 attack damage and 60/80/100 ability power.

Taric may destroy the gem walls early by reactivating Radiance.

I am not even going to bother having after notes here; if you have questions, comments, or concerns then post away and I will get to them.

Hope you appreciate the concept and let's work together team! ~ Stacona

Smacking your allies as Taric... sounds weird.

That is surrounded by magical gems with powerful healing earth magic--- you need the smashing of the gem hammer to activate the healing properties; plus i think it is a unique playstyle to attack your allies, perhaps to get out some anger and frustration, or you just really want to t---- err, umm Taric, what are you doing? Taric? Taric? Taric NOOOOO!!!!

Imbue is the only time ally attacking is allowed so his passive and Q have direct correlation

I like the mechanic but I don't know if works well for taric, it is too based around your attack speed for a tank support. Unless you don't think of him as a tank support after this.

Paladin tank support dude with gems... truly outrageous gems... It is to force Taric to be in the action like a paladin instead of safely and passively healing his allies and giving an armour aura he needs to actively grant heals and bonus armor to allies... only downside is that i granted taric mobility escapes, but there are ways to interrupt him with the electric slide to dazzle someone, plus i try to negate it with cooldown and mana cost

but perhaps granting an attack speed passive to the spell will be good so that taric can build a normal tank support build; but mainly the system is both uniqueness and try to make it so Taric is not have a super far back passive playstyle as a melee tank paladin support while keeping him a healing support "just let me touch you... mmmmm..."

EDIT: Know what added an attack speed buff to Imbue while Imbue is ON COOLDOWN (so a weird mechanic where the attack speed steroid goes down in duration with cooldown reduction; also makes it so Taric cannot get a bunch of attack speed without an ally champion nearby; so solo lane taric cannot become a thing)

Again, really cool mechanic and I like changes that force taric into the fray, but attack speed based things don't mesh well with him in my mind. Maybe if his next 1-2 auto's against that imbued ally would grant health and the time limit for procing those two auto's would be until the ability is off cooldown.

The blind on his w should only apply if they are facing him

I like the idea of him dazzling the enemy with his body, but instead of making it a skillshot/dash it could be a targeted skillshot. Similar to jax's leap, but you could get interrupted early. Then he would only be able to dash if there was an enemy to target.

I want to have a dodge/miss with the stun as well as add complexity to his kit so that there are other ways to use Taric rather than a direct linear route like having a gap closer to get in range for a slow, not to mention it can be used to get closer to heal an ally--- things like these increases Taric's mastery level while keeping him easy to play

Shatter; despite the blindi making sense for enemies actually facing Taric, i just want the spell to be the reliable peel/protection tool since i made his stun no longer super reliable to load so a reliable blind and slow to compensate for a less reliable stun

You gave me an idea for the heal where the Q will be a charge system and as long as he has at least one charge he can 'attack' an ally champion to heal him based on Imbue rank; the active will refresh the cooldown of the current charge if a charge is currently on cooldown (aka you aren't at cap charges already)

i want to keep the absurd attack speed to get have attacks for the longer stun duration for Dazzle; besides the comical aspect this allows Taric to have a long duration stun with counter play since a ally can chalice bell or stun taric while you can QSS the stun as well (there are other effects as well) and a free dash despite granting Taric mobility does allow him the option to be non-linear and increase his mastery limit and choose multiple paths to use Dazzle outside of simply stunning the enemy

Made this Dazzle into a point and click skill shot- so it is still target point-and-click, but the enemy can dodge it as well as can be intercepted by teammates of the targeted champion - plus it gives Taric a gap closer, something he really needs as a support paladin gem dude
