i feel like buying zhonyas makes you unkillable in most situations. by the time your done with stasis the jungler or team might have reached your lane to push the aggressor off. if we increase the cooldown, itwould make it so people would time when to use the stasis instead of popping it everytime they are in danger.
edit: this was probably the smartest way i can input my hate towards zhonyas, but as usual downvoted by ap mage mains. pathetic.

Otherwise, no. Zhonya's is the only way some champions can even try to be viable (Morgana without Zhonya's basically does not have an ultimate for example), and even then it only buys a bit of time. If someone is heavily caught out Zhonyas likely will not save them (at best they bought 2.5 seconds extra time before dying brutally) in anyway.
