the "blame the jungler stereotype" created an even worse one.

Goodest Gamer··121 votes·7,578 views

The "junglers can do no wrong" one. Most of the games i play now in diamond include junglers who go to sleep in their jungle regardless of how easy ganking would be. If you ask for a gank you get "im not soppsoed to win ur lane for u" , while their enemy jungler has been in my lane 15 times and has dived me near my farming jungler about 3 times.

They have some of the worst attitudes in the game. they refuse to be a part of their team but complain when they lose.

just now played 2 games in a row with the same trio who ignored me the entire game in hopes i tilt and rage so they report me. the allied ANNIE jungler stayed mid and watched me get ganked next to her in hopes i rage.

guess who carried them? 18-3 in a game where 2 people were telling me to kill myself with no punishment.

True "Our jungler is useless" "Yeah, blame the jungler, noob, youre 0/3" "They dived me twice, killed 3 dragons and RH, we have none" "Shut up, git gud"

Mazariamonti10 votes

Though to be fair, whether it's true or not, "our (anything) is useless" is never going to accomplish much of anything and typically just puts everyone on the team even more on edge when you're already losing.

I mean technically as a jungler they don't HAVE to gank for you. He's right, he shouldn't win lane for you. At the same time if he wants to win it's in his best intentions to gank for you in order to win the game. He still shouldn't complain if he lost the game if he never ganked.

Supreme Senpai695 votes

They don't have to gank for you, but that's like saying top laner doesn't have to TP and mid doesn't have to roam and support doesn't have to ward. Junglers don't have to gank just means they decide who and when to gank, they aren't obligated to gank everytime the laner asks for one. They really should still gank though whenever the conditions are right.

ImmortalBloodCY16 votes

If you are letting the enemy laner to keep pushing that's a clear indication that a jungler should gank the lane. http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h380/thejhoijhoi/safety.png

Red= Time to gank. Orange= Could work Green=No ganks.

This one is for top lane http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h380/thejhoijhoi/safety2.png

If the Nasus go to Red you should gank him if you can.

Even IF you are pushed, a jgler, ESPECIALLY at higher tiers should be able to dive. Some exceptions can be applied to this, though.

The odd Yorick Evelynn jgl can't Malzahar can't.

But Ekko Warwick MasterYi Fizz Elise Amumu Hecarim Maokai Khazix Gragas can just dive whenever they want, and should if the opportunity presents itself

Spoofghoul6 votes

ah yes thats how it is. and if all your lanes are in the red

because that is what annoys me as a jungler, when neither of 3 lanes have a clue what is happening in any o the other 2 lanes.

if 1 is hardpushing and we dont know the location of their jungler, then it would be nice if the other 2 lanes dont push beyond orange so i can guestimate which lane to hover while warding their jungle.

once i got 1 side warded then everyone can push

but that never happens :(

anyway i quit jungling a long time ago, becuase laners often suck at working with their jungler and vice versa. Just the way it is.

GundayMonday5 votes

Yep, and we also have to factor in Rift Herald buff, Dragons, scalings, and other win conditions more than "Y U NO GNAK MY LANE NOOB? KYS". Jungle's pretty tough this patch since there are so many objectives to take. Tricky to figure out the right order sometimes.

A junglers job isn't winning the lane for his lanes but if he can win their lanes he should do so. If I have a Nidalee/Lee in my team who hasn't ganked pre 6 or in the first 15 minutes he is just useless and that's it. I can understand that champions like Shyvana or Yi have a hard time ganking but they are getting destroyed in high elo. In high elo a jungler HAS to influence the game earlier on.

A midlaners Job isn't to roam to the sidelanes but if he can win their lanes he should do so. If I have a Lissandra / Twisted fate in my team who didn't shove up and roam at level 6 or in the first 15 minutes he is just useless and that's it. I can understand that champions like Katarina and AP Ezreal have a hard time pushing the lane and roaming but they are getting destroyed in high elo. In High elo a Twisted Fate / Lissandra midlane HAS to influence the game earlier on.

Spaceman5pff2 votes

Respect where respect is due though, a good nidalee player is a good nidalee player. Lee sin not ganking before level 6 means he is useless though? Without hard CC or a few longswords, lee doesn't bring a particularly high amount of burst or utility to a gank, so unless you are playing something with enough burst / cc to compensate, he may just be better powering to 6 / pressuring the enemy jungler with invades and THEN ganking.

SirSmokeysAlot2 votes

Actually Lee has a built in execute. Lee is a very early game champ. If Lee doesn't get ahead early and at least snowball himself and one lane chances are you will lose. You can wait until 6, but gooood luck.

Spaceman5pff1 votes

Yes, lee sin has a powerful early game, that doesn't mean his GANKS pre 6 are good. Pre 6 he has much more pressure on the enemy jungler than he does on a lane (by his own merit, not counting laners cc)

SirSmokeysAlot2 votes

I totally disagree. Lee should non stop be ganking his balls off if the laners aren't fucking stupid. What I mean by this is they are not pushed to other teams turret like dumbs.

Laner: "Their jungler is just sitting top, i'm gonna need you to get some pressure on drag or bot or something."

Jungler: "lol just ward noob" smites krugs

Laner: "Playing against insert champion or champions is pretty cancer, could I get a gank?"

Jungler: "if you can't win lane 100% of the time against all match ups why play ranked?"

Laner: " You are 0/0/0 at 15 minutes, can you please do something other than farm?"

Jungler: "THE JUNGLERS JOB ISN"T TO WIN LANES. IT IS TO CREATE PRESSURE, CONTROL OBJECTIVES, AND PUSH TOWERS" Aggressively taxes waves and then goes back into jungle

The only thing more cancerous than the jungle circle-jerk is the battered support main circle-jerk.

CeexSett9 votes

"Agressively taxes waves" LMAO, I can already imagine that Lee Sin who missed his Q and took 3 seconds to ward hop Tiamtaing all the casters and smiting the siege minion, with a "gg lanes sleeping uninstall".

Wolfeur8 votes

I'm a support main, can you tell me what circle-jerk you're talking about? Is it about the "all ADCs are toxic"?

Jet Sett10 votes

That and probably how people act like every Adc is an incompetent 2-year old with a keyboard. Seriously, I don't think I've seen any hint of respect towards Adc mains in months, except Draven because of his difficulty, but not Vayne because she has a bad playerbase reputation even though one of the most toxic league players we've ever had was a Draven main.

Not saying anything about Draven, just that every champ has toxic people who main them, even Poppy, Gnar, and Bard.

i played a game where my support (i'm a support main, but I also play adc a bit to keep up on the matchups) died THREE TIMES IN LANE, and not in trades, either, just getting straight up picked out and chain cc'ed. At this point, the enemy laner is pretty fed and it's easy to zone me off cs. I'm ~15 creeps behind the enemy adc and my support has the TEMERITY to tell me "why buy a cull if you can't farm?" even though he's been aa minions the entire laning phase.

When I then say something back to him about not 'managing' my wave for me, I'M the bad guy. he doesn't ward, doesn't know when or how to pressure, misses his spells and feeds, feeds, feeds, but it's MY fault for not winning lane. Why? Because according to the community, ADCs (which is the most mechanically difficult position) are always at fault for not winning lane, but supports can bring whatever off-meta bullshit into lane, suck ass with it, and still get <<patpat>> "it's not YOUR fault your adc is garbage" if I dare suggest maybe he also contributed to losing our lane.

Squid Squared1 votes

As a supp main let me say this - you are correct that supports need to also take a share of the responsibility for the lane - especially early, as they, the support (especially for champs who have cc or stun, knock-up, etc.) can often make the deciding plays that determine if an adc lives or dies trying to get that first kill, or avoid being it.

However, please remember not to be toxic towards your supp - I understand they were the ones to speak aggressively first in this case, but in future, just mute them and keep playing. Getting into arguments with them in-game will not help your play or theirs.

Br4ndon16 votes

I had jungler pull the "its always the junglers fault" card when he was out jungled by the enemy. He had no presence no pressure and no idea how to play his champion and when asked ot gank or get objectives he cried in all chat that were blaming him. Asking him to do jungler things trigger this whole victim complex. The enemy team got him to tilt by egging it on, it was pathetic.

If you ask for a gank you get "im not soppsoed to win ur lane for u"

and then they expect you to win their jungle/game for them lol.. for instance, they complain when you don't help them when they get ganked in the jungle, and yet they outright refuse to help you when you get ganked practically right beside them .. double standards ftw!

^This. this right here.

Jungler says in champ select that he has no intention of ganking, we should be able to win lanes without help. Jungler gets invaded lvl 2 Jungler complains that his team doesn't respond. (For the record, we got vision of their jungler ~1s before our jungler died) 3 people on our team all type that he should be able to win in the jugnel without help within a second of each other.

WadeWilson13377 votes

If everytime you play ranked, chances are SOMEONE will try to tell you how to do your job, youd probably get pretty annoyed too. "Oh hey random mid laner, you should contest that guy everytime he goes to last hit." "His cooldowns are down, SMACK DAT ASS." "Missed a cannon, fucking shit mid gg open."

Goodest Gamer5 votes

? asking him why he refuses to gank or do anything but farm isnt telling u how to do your job. its questioning if you're even trying to win or not.

macromite3 votes

jungler can win by farming.

Goodest Gamer7 votes

so can laners but the enemy jungler that ganks stops that from happening.

WadeWilson13371 votes

If all youre doing is farming, you should be letting the wave push to you and likely attempting to freeze it under your tower. The chances of you getting ganked are actually quite low if youre doing that, so im not sure what youre point is...

GayFluffyUnicorn3 votes

don't u worry. Junglers are the new supps. Gods chosen ones. A gift send by heaven for us poor laning souls who don't understand this game as junglers with mechanical challenging junglers like yi, voli, udyr who counterjungle and get trapped by midlane and enemy jungler and starting to flame me for not following up to donate some bonus gold. Or jungler who just saw me QW my enemy as LeBlanc and complaining why i only followed his gank with autoattacks. Do u even know cooldowns bro?

Totalis6 votes

fuckin PREACH. I main adc and secondary jungle, and I know how completely not difficult it is to be a part of the game as the jungler, so when I see my jungle just sucking his own dick in the jungle instead of helping it pisses me off to no end.

Goodest Gamer6 votes

i main the lane that gets ganked the most, horrible top lane...

JafarThePanda5 votes

I'm stringent on ganks because of three things:

  1. Awareness - asking me for a gank 45 seconds after leashing isn't warranting a gank. The champs I play don't ever get to gank at level 2, except Gragas and Warwick even then it depends on the matchup. Spam pinging assist me while I'm ganking bot lane that's been doing the same AND has a 3v2, is meaning I'm not ganking your lane. Don't be that guy. Also. item 2043 item 3340 item 3363 for fucks sake

  2. Comm - if you don't actually have any sort of awareness, and you can't comm on when and where to engage, why would I ever want to gank your lane?

  3. Pacing - If I'm way too far behind, because of a combination of the other two things, I'm just going to end up being feed for whatever laner I'm against. Seriously. I have priorities too. If I fall behind, I can't catch up. If I get your CS, of course you're going to flame me. Even if I'm a low health Warwick needing health to escape or stay alive.

Spaceman5pff5 votes

Wow, so Diamond Junglers tell their laners the same shit ive been saying in silver? Maybe I am not so stupid after all.

TBH like, when I am jungler, I don't think it is my job to gank, like shit man half of the game mid is closer to bot than I am, and the same goes for mid being closer to top. Being someone who began jungling before timers were given out like foodstamps, I have a tendency to play my game to beat out the enemy jungler, track them down and kill them and win the matchup in the jungle. I guess you could say I play it like a lane. The exception to this being if I don't think I can win the jungle matchup head to head, then I focus on my gold income farming and ganking. My view of ganking is that it is a form of gold income for myself primarily, and secondarily for my team. Extreme example here: I am near bot, and toplane vlad is pinging me to gank a riven who is shoved against our turret. Fuck no I am going to earn gold on the bottom side of the map instead of roaming top just to have riven hop and dash away from us, we probably wont even get a flash off of that!

TLDR: If you really want your jungler in your lane, you make that shit look tasty, and be happy about it. Just like you as a laner will weigh the value of the farm in front of you vs the odds of winning a 2v2 helping your jungler, the jungler will do the same when deciding to come countergank for you or not.

Devo Hes3 votes

It's not a matter of "winning your lane for you"

Ganks lead to advantages (even the smallest ones like making them use a pot) These advantages can snowball into victories. It can sway a losing matchup.

Your job isn't to win their lane for them, your job is to assist the team in winning the game. You do that any way you wish, ganking just so happens to be one of the ones with the higher success rate

Blkninjar874 votes

MrBuffington4 votes

Yep; Junglers and Supports do get a lot of undeserved flak, but no player is immune to mistakes.

Wolfeur2 votes

Except supports don't deny their role. They can blame other people for their mistake but they act as supports, where junglers sometimes refuse to do the job they're supposed to do.

exigentomic4 votes

Yeah, sure but you should also know that the game is bigger than your lane and it's stupid to think the jungler is going to babysit you. Moreover, the key to jg success is proper pathing and that involves farming efficiently rather than hanging out in your lane. The opportunities to gank are much more restricted than you realize if you're actually trying to manage jg resources efficiently at the same time.

Proper pathing can easily be worth more than a kill (which is almost never guaranteed - especially if you pick low CC mids) even if it reduces gank potential. First of all, if you ignore clearing your JG, they can be stolen but even if they're not, it means you'll be lower level since they won't be respawning as fast.

You also have to see the JGs health and mana. Just being near your lane doesn't mean they can gank. Finally, if you get ganked a lot, it's probably because you're overextending. It's almost never possible for a jg (barring Fiddlesticks/Nocturne) to get a kill if you're not overextended and on equal gold with your laner.

Spacesuit Spiff4 votes

Reversed stupidity is not intelligence. How i see this dynamic:

-Laners should be able to hold their own even against ganks, or admit they aren't climbing elo. -Junglers should be impactful in whatever way will win the game.

(Inb4 downvotes bc the word dynamic upsets ppl)

what happens if you ping assistance after freezing your lane against a low health, pushing enemy

:[

ForeverLaxx2 votes

If you're getting ganked that often by the enemy jungler to the point that they're diving you, then multiple things have happened. You were pushed up too far and didn't have adequate ward coverage so the first initial ganks were you own fault. Once you die a few times, now you're behind and diving you to keep you behind is less risky. A Jungler isn't going to come to your lane and try to salvage a failed lane -- their time is better spent elsewhere on the map trying to get the other lanes ahead so they can offset you being behind.

This is how it usually plays out and why us Jungle players get sick of this "gank my lane when I tell you to" mentality. If you're that far behind, then trying to gank your lane isn't going to help anything because the enemy is fed and your contribution to the gank would be practically zero. Their attitude about it was bad, but I wouldn't gank for your lane if you've failed it that hard either.

Goodest Gamer1 votes

Or I'm not playing a tank and they are.

ForeverLaxx2 votes

Doesn't matter. Play more conservatively and stop getting yourself into a bad situation that you think your jungler is supposed to swoop in and save you from.

Mecha MaIphite2 votes

Considering that jungle is one of the most impactful roles, a bad jungler can actually do all wrong.
