Can we please get some real and legitimate nerfs to Yasuo?

Horse Grenades··27 votes·1,877 views

How about a CD on his dash? Or i guess you could give every other melee champion an infinite dash in a minion line when you SHOULD have the advantage but you don't because "SURPRISE! MOBILITY CREEP! AND A SHEILD" So you're forced to fight in a large number of Yasuo's creeps, but you don't have the advantage there. So.. how do you lane with him if you aren't Karma or Mordekaiser?

  1. He is strong, but the problem is the tank build, not yasuo is general right now.

  2. His dash isn't unlimited, he can only dash to enemy/neutral targets.

  3. His shield basically is only useful to block aa's if you're ranged.

  4. Yes you can lane versus yasuo, it isn't that hard. He's squishy and has poor escapes.

  5. By only listing his strengths, you can make any champion look strong. Even urgot when he was a troll pick because he was utter shit. You didn't list a single weakness.

Edit: Speaking of "GIVE HIM MANA COSTS"

He needs to dash around and stack his skills in order to do shit... give him mana costs? He's already melee, he needs to get into dangerous situations in order to get cs, giving mana would just fck him up even more... Yeah manaless champions are a hella annoying, but that doesn't mean they should mindlessly spam. If morde spams too much he pushes the wave and is an easy gank target. Same thing for yasuo. But he'll also run out of targets to dash to.

JayMo12 votes
  1. He builds 2 items, gets 100% crit...gold efficiency that other champs do not have.
  2. He gets a shield from mobility, has dash that is on 0.1 second cd, situational only if he is in river fighting 1 v 1. There will 90% of the time either be creep wave, jungle minions, or other enemy champs to dash to. You can auto the shield, but it lasts for 1 second after the auto, so he still gets the reduction, and that extra 1000 hp makes a huge difference in a team fight where he has lifesteal and crits every auto.
  3. The problem with yasuo is that any weakness he does have, is shared by other champions that don't have near the strengths he has to counterbalance any weakness. He is squishy and melee. He has crits to quickly heal him back, mobility to get in and out, shield to protect him, shield to block autos/ults from ranged attacks, 50% armor pen if ults to destroy tanks, he can kill a team before the "squishy" part of his kit becomes a factor.
  4. I thought if you had the STRENGTH of not needing mana, a WEAKNESS of having high cd's was the balance, but he has neither.
  5. I understand that he has counters, of course CC him down and kill him, but so do many other champs with the exception of Olaf. But many of those champs have to deal with other weaknesses, like mana, or high cd's in their kit. Some also have to spend more gold to get the same stats as a yasuo. You can list those champions strengths, and they wont sound anywhere near as absurd as having no mana/energy constraints plus low cds(rapid fire mode anyone).
  6. A yasuo does not mean an insta win, and he does take skill to play. But his kit is too strong, it has too many strengths when compared to his weaknesses. In my opinion.

**I guess for arguments sake, instead of just posting problems, i could post solutions as well. Just one of these would be good. Maybe remove one of his passives, either the crit or the shield(no shield for ult either). Most champions only have one passive. Increase the cd's on either his q or his ult(and take away cd scaling on q with attk speed), his w is acceptable if he receives a nerf elsewhere, i understand he needs mobility, decrease the insane ad scaling he receives on his abilities(1.0 on q, 1.5 on ult). If you're going to allow his ult to have 20 second cd on rank 4 with cdr, then take away his ability to provide a knockup for himself, so it is more reliant on team building. Take away the cd on his w, and just give him 3-4 charges that take so long to recharge, like akali ult. So he can still have the mobility, but it's not just braindead dashing from minion to minion, auto, then out. He has to plan pre engage with the escape.

GULAG 4 U3 votes

The problem is you cannot remove his double crit or he'll do no damage, you'd have to greatly increase his base damage. Also once again, when you mention double crit, you don't mention the fact he has a crit penalty and it's pretty big lategame. His e doesn't charge his shield anymore. You shouldn't fight him near minion waves, and once again it's situational when there are no minions. And that can happen when he just cleared the wavae. If he pushes he can't dash, if he spams it he pushes and is an easy gank target. "He has crits to heal him back" The problem is adcs are ranged so you can't touch them as easy as they lifesteal for free, unlike yasuo. Once again, he's melee. He's already limited by the fact he's melee, energy cost would fuck him up even more. He's squishy and has to go in your face to trade. Once again, the problem isn't full ad yasuo, but tanksuo. He already has to plan a preengage and escape, as he can accidentally clear minion waves with his EQ. You're still listing his strengths and not weaknesses, horrible base stats for a fighter (Just like aatrox), no sustain, unreliable cc. He isn't an assassin .

Also many of your points are really invalid. 2 passives... So what? Yasuo doesn't have any good escape. You should abuse that. If your jungle doesn't gank a yasuo (he pushes when he tries to trade, he has to damage the wave to get his knockup and e damage) and his dash range is really low so he can't gtfo easily.

GULAG 4 U1 votes

He's an easy matchup for mordekaiser. I don't see why would you want to ban him unless you don't want your team to play him.

Malicious Metal3 votes

Because I absolutely hate playing with or against him? Doesn't matter if I'll destroy him in lane, it just tilts me way too much.

I'd rather face stuff like Fizz, Irelia, Fiora and Riven than a Yasuo

Spicy Rice1 votes

Thing is, that's not a valid reason to nerf him. Hell, I find garen to be extremely annoying and would ban him every game if there weren't any actual op champs

Getcuxcd4 votes

yup his E needs to stay 0.5 at ALL RANKS 0.4/3 at worst and also the base dmg is way too high for no reason

Guy Fox Teemo2 votes

Its abase damage of 250 at max rank when you have 2 stacks. That has an 8 second CD per champion; And can only be used on an enemy.

Thats an insanely gated ability.

then whats the harm to nerf it to 100 .. hell he would still be fine if his E didnt do any dmg at all its just SO unnecesary and magic on TOP of that

and overloaded means- having way too many unnecesary things that are making the champ stronger OP and without these things the champ would be balanced even without his crit hed still be fine aswell- look at frozen force yas but if the crit stays GEEZ nerf it alittle bit so it gives less crit ..its retarded why does riot go so easy on yasuo just because people love playing him .. hes literally been staying like this just because he has a large craberous fanbase almost as big as battle bunny riven nerds defending the champ at all cost from nerfs with any stupid argument they can make out of their ass when its blatantly obvious the guy needs some nurfs

Guy Fox Teemo3 votes

Yes nerf a base damage by 150 damage that obviously won't completely destroy and early game potential. And no overloaded is a retarded word used on these boards.

He has a passive shield Double crit A q that stacks and throws a tornado A quick short dash to enemys. a Projectile blocking W A ult that suspends you in the air for 1 second (if you get knocked up).

Not even overloaded. 6 "abilitys" in his kit.

Obviously Yasuo needs nerfs he's a bit overtuned; But the way your lucking at it is gutting and your mostly just being biased about a champion you've never played.

im level 6 with yasuo 42k mastery... i started playing him after i was fed up at how bullshit he is and riot aren doing anything to fix him.. and my opinion hasnt changed sometimes it feels so unfair to my opponents and yes his E needs to be gutted so he is forced to max Q atleast then we wont have to nerf his E cast time to 0.5 at all ranks but if they dont nerf the base dmg atleast they should make it 0.5 at all ranks im sick of it when i have boots and he has no ms items at all he just spams that sht and goes to me before i get out of the wave and takes atleast 50% of my hp with the base dmg .. yes only once his E HURTS alot thats why the base needs to go down or the cast time stays 0.5

His E does not do 50% of your health; Thats blatantly lying, infact the only time Yasuos E does any damage to even be considered noticeable is lvls 1-6, and thats barely any damage for an ability thst short ranged.

And no if you made his e .5 seconds at alll ranks, his gap closers would be insanely slow to the point that the enemy's could simply walk away off any engage in lane. (That's why mages fk Yasuo terribly on the early game)

i never said that his E only alone does 50% dmg of your health why do you even assume that are u high ? but IT HELPS ALOT SINCE yasuo is mashing atleast away your 50% hp untill u manage to go to your turret with luck AND his E does ALOT in a 1 go... stop coming with arguments out of your ass.please what is wrong with u.. u sound like so deseperate to defend ur favorite overloaded champ that any legit thing we say about ur champ ur going to come up with something that doesnt make sense just for the sake of it also no mages do not fk yasuo terribly on the early game ur so overreacting and i also didnt say it has to be 0.5 sec at all ranks 0.4/0.3 is also an option giving a more counterplay window to back away from him sticking to you and ruining your day

Guy Fox Teemo1 votes

takes atleast 50% of my hp with the base dmg

I didn't come up with it out of my ass that was your OWN quote. Referring to the E's base damage taking out 50% of your HP, you didn't reference anything else.

And no from my Experience having played Yasuo (160k Points), Yasuo does get shit on early by mages if you aren't really good at him. We'll have to agree to disagree on that point since I doubt I'll change your mind.

Again I don't agree adding a longer delay on his E is the right nerf, its not what makes him overpowered as its incredibly gated and yes it is gated you can't argue that. I'd suggest lowering the base damage on his Q by 10 and his E's base by 5 (At all ranks). Since Yasuo's currently problem is his Tank builds being to efficient without much AD.

Spicy Rice1 votes

No offense man, but 42k is nothing, he'll I have near 300k and I'm still considered one of the amateur yasuo players.

And while he can seem strong in lower elos, if you've ever taken him to a tournament against people with actual coordination, you'd know that yasuo is a very easy champion to beat.

The current problem with him is that because of his nature as a duelist, he can build tacky and still do damage due to sheer stickiness

Yes nerf a base damage by 150 damage that obviously won't completely destroy and early game potential.

Here's the thing. He's a manaless champion. He's supposed to have a poor early game, that's the weakness that manaless champions are supposed to have so that they don't oppress champions with actual costs.

Look at the others. Katarina and Akali have really weak early games. Kennen's is mediocre at best (he's mostly stronger because he's ranged.) Shen can't do much early (or couldn't, I haven't played him since the rework.)

The situation is different for the manaless fighters, but even those tend not to be that good until they hit their "all skills" spike at level 3.

Guy Fox Teemo1 votes

He already has a poor early game. Nerfing his E base 150 base damage only makes him complete and utter shit to the point that he would have zero chance to get his late game (He's also got a problem of feast or famine if he doesn't get ahead he's shit for the rest of the game).

Also Katarina and Akali have been problem champions since release; Due to their kits nature (Insanely huge power spikes after lvl 6/first item, and uninteractive unfun kits since their point and click blinks)

Yasuo has always been faceroll overpowered.

Brainless op champ but he's flashy so Riot refuses to balance him.

LU Vanilla Rice 4 votes

For a former diamond, I'd expect more of you, no offence. Yasuo isn't overpowered; there is proper counterplay and I would explain all of it, but people have already stated some of it, and it would take a while. I personally recommend just googling it. If people want to say he's completely overpowered, then he'd be a primary pick/ban in pro play, where all skill level is fairly equal. But he isn't. He has been picked before, in certain comps and circumstances, but as a whole he isn't not nearly as strong as other champions.

For a former diamond

That REALLY stings, a lot more than anything else that the bronzies on this or any forum could possibly say to me. It cuts very deep.

The reason it does is because you did it without malice, and that is why it hurts... if done with malice it means literally nothing to me.... but you're right. you're absolutely right, I am a **former ** Diamond player and I am struggling incredibly hard to reach Diamond again .... if all goes well I WILL be Diamond again soon.

As to the rest of your completely garbage arguments; https://champion.gg/champion/Yasuo

High win rate. High pick rate. High ban rate.

Note that high pick rate tends to deflate win rate, all of this strongly supports what I've said so far.

LU Vanilla Rice 4 votes

First off, I don't really care whether you're hurt or not, because I wasn't attacking you or you rank, simply stating a fact.

Second, Yasuo is a high skill cap champion that, when played well, has the ability to outplay many champions and can carry his team. By the looks of the site you used, this is for platinum+ ranked games. Assuming the info is accurate, then it would make sense given the fact that people who master him do well. This doesn't mean he's overpowered, it's simply the way that he is built.

As for your site, it shows Yasuo having a good win rate. Another reason for this, aside from the fact it is only platinum+, is that you looked only at Yasuo top lane, but he is also a mid laner. And if you do look at his win rate and such in mid lane, it is significantly lower. Not to say Yasuo is weak, because he definitely is not, but he is not as strong as you say he is. As a whole, he's a balanced champion.

Put simply: in this current patch, with the current priority top laners, along with the items (basically, in the very current meta in top lane), he has a high win rate among skilled Yasuo players. But, his win rate including both mid and top is not as high. Yasuo is strong, not overpowered. And please, don't quickly disregard this because you personally think Yasuo is overpowered, try and actually look at the champion and perhaps learn his very efficient counterplay.

Dominick Destine1 votes

First off, I don't really care whether you're hurt or not, because I wasn't attacking you or you rank, simply stating a fact.

Not interested in your reaction.

Let's move on.

Second, Yasuo is a high skill cap champion that....

PFFFT AHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Ok let's stop right there and break this down for you briefly;

  • Extremely mobile.
  • Built-in sustain.
  • Some of the highest scaling in the game, only hyper-scalers can overpass (I.e. Vayne KogMaw Nasus Veigar , etc.)
  • One of the safest champions in game with multiple escape mechanisms
  • 2 AoE stuns
  • Manaless
  • Braindead-easy laning (I.e. very safe, very easy to last hit)

What part of this champion is "high skill cap" again? you can almost literally faceroll to success because his margin of error is one of the highest in the game. Arguably the highest next to Lee sin, who is also braindead easy to play (See: 4 low CD escape mechanisms coupled with built-in sustain and manaless... notice a pattern yet?)

Once again, https://champion.gg/champion/Yasuo You think those stats are an accident? plat+ high pick rate, high win rate, high ban rate.... your argument is in defiance of the facts and thus, dismissed as the nonsense that it is.

YumScrumptious963 votes

For a former diamond player, you don't show why your knowledge is diamond level as you just called Yasuo a very safe laning champion. and says he has 2 AoE stuns, one of which entirely requires another knockup to hit, which only extends the duration by 1 more second, which is nothing compared to Morgana or Leona.

The other person was sincere and thus, it cut very deep precisely because it was not intended in anything other than a passing comment. Later I realized the person making that comment was Diamond, and now I recognize the person I'm responding to is bronze, so there is a very big difference.

"when do you have the advantage against yasuo if not in this clearly disadvantageous situation"

Minions spawn every 30 seconds. When minions move his mobility behaves differently because it has to

Yasuo is designed to have conditional evasion at all times. If you've ever played any mmo there are always all sorts of characters like this.

In order to damage yasuo you must spend one ability turn and engage him repeatedly. But at the same time he wants this so you must also be able to disengage or stay unengaged

so what this means is that against yasuo you have the advantage after he has spent too many of his evasion skills and you can focus on objectives.
