“Don’t go near them” it not counterplay.

If the only way to not instantly lose to something is to not interact with it, that’s unhealthy.

If "Don't go near them" completely shuts the champ down then sure it is counterplay with the amount of ranged champions in the game, it means like 35% of the roster counters them. (I am not speaking with a specific champion in mind)

Except that’s not the case. It doesn’t shut them down.

You follow the “don’t go near the fed jax” idea. 1:30 later he’s crushed 3 turrets and is taking your Inhib.

Jax is supposed to have other weaknesses. I don't think jax is a "don't go near them" champion. + We are not talking about "don't go defend a tower against them" , we are saying that some champions like Darius Garen Nasus are so binary (and bad if their enemy knows how to exploit them) that the simple way to beat them is "don't be in range of Apprehend, Spin, Wither respectively"

Jax's achiles heel is supposed to be teamfighting and peel. Jax just dies if he can't get on the enemy carries. If you break his Q with a displacement he is fucked, now the fact that SoS breaks champions is a fact and you can't really blame the champ for it.

Except you can’t decend turrets now because of how weak they are and how they melt like turrets. And we can blame Jax for sos abuse.

also, that is yet to explain how “don’t go near them” is adequate counterplay. How not interacting with a champion is adequate counterplay. It’s saying, there is no actual counterplay, so just don’t interact with them.
