Is Dynamic Queue ACTUALLY less toxic?

I keep seeing people (including Riot themselves) say that Dynamic Queue has reduced toxicity. My question is what source are they using for this info? Are they just basing this purely off the amount of reports has gone down?

The way I look at it is of course reports are going to go down. Even if someone is being a gigantic, massive douche, the likelihood that his/her premade is going to report them is still almost zero. So if someone in a premade of 3 is being a toxic douche, there is already 3/5 people on the team that aren't going to report him/her (assuming they're not being toxic in all-chat) regardless. If its a premade of 4, then most likely they are only going to get a single report, even if they're being extremely toxic.

So to Riot's reduced toxicity argument, I have just one thing to say:

CORRELATION =/= CAUSATION

If 4 people are on Skype in their own world, they're less likely to rage in chat. They'd also have only one rage target who isn't their friends. So, yes, it's less toxic but not because the players are nicer.

Yes it is.

Solo Queue was toxic as fuck. Glad that they removed it after years of suffering. Even doe i'm playing solo i feel much better now.

But it's actually more toxic for Solo Q players #getfuckedSoloQPlayersagain

I don't think it has done much in the actual game, though I think toxicity in champ select has gone down. I don't see the classic "mid or feed" anymore, and generally people have either been nice to me or just quiet in champ select

This is of course my own subjective / personal experience, so take it with a grain of salt.

Premades of 5 rarely ever reported one another, so we can safely ignore that.

Riot can easily see the number of reports between solo players and premades of 2-4. If the number of reports in those situations goes down it is easy evidence.

Keep in mind the number of reports has never really mattered. One report carries the same weight as 9.

correlation = causation

when you have millions of games of data to base it on, and you only change 1 thing

You do realise that reporting someone flags the game to be reviewed for the reported person. Additional reports on the same person do squat(except to give the reporter peace of mind that they have been reported) So 1 person reporting 3 others vs 2 people reporting the 3 makes no difference. Those people are only reviewed once.

I can understand why you think that considering that's what Riot themselves had said. But I always thought it would be foolish to ignore how many people a player gets reported by. And I was right. Riot does account for multiple reports even if they like to pretend they don't. It's true that only one report triggers the system. But the amount of reports do actually weigh.
