Give me an option to opt out of certain roles.

We have the option to pick our two roles (or get autofilled)

But I'd actually much rather have the option to pick which role I DON'T want.

I'll play anything but top lane, and be fine with it. And sometimes I wanna queue up like "Yeah just gimme whatever"

But fill == support, so... can't pick fill cuz its not random and I'm just gonna get supp every time. I might as well just pick support as my primary -- same thing.

Give me an "Anything but..." option.

Kinda defeats the purpose of auto-fill if you allow people to opt out of the role that needs to be filled the most.

Ah, yes, because auto fill is a HUGE success, and not at all one of the single-most bitched about things in the game.

I'm fairly certain most people would GLADLY take 30+ minute queues over being autofilled.

And not everyone is going to opt out of the same thing, right? Like maybe some people enjoy top. I don't. Maybe someone else would opt out of jungle. Another person might opt out of ADC.

Actually, I think it would HELP the situation, because now you have people queuing up for 4 roles instead of 2.

For the fanatical about the game? Sure. But this game is not only for the fanatical that are willing to just sit there for an additional match length just so they get into the game. That's a lot of dead time that people might decide they would rather just play/do something else.

When queues get too long, less people queue up and opt to simply not play. Which Riot does not want.

You and I both know which role is still going to need autofill most of the time. If you extend role preference to 4 then you'd just get the most needed role of the 4 and occasionally the one that you didn't queue for when you're autofilling and its needed.

Autofill would still have to be a thing incase a role becomes so mundane that everyone opts out of it.

Plus some people might be plat rank as a jungler but only silver as an adc, top and support. Then what? They opt out of 2 and then do they have a 1 in 3 chance to get a role they will most definitely loose?

I feel the opt-out should only be a secondary for those who choose fill

well, my idea was to only be able to ever opt out of one role, and fill the rest.

And you'd still be able to pick roles if you wanted -- you'd just have the option to opt out. It would just be another spoke on the wheel. "Fill all but X"

So you'd have the following options when picking roles

Jungle
Top
Mid
ADC
Support
Fill
Fill with exception

And you can pick two, right?

So you could hypothetically go "Jungle + Fill all but top" (Which is what I'd pick literally always.)

Maybe a solution or option would be an ability to "bank" time in support. It's either that or they make support worthwhile to play again.

Could be worse...you could get adc. At least the support has slightly more agency to change the outcome of the game.
