Ever since i started playing league i can't handle this champion. his health combined with damage and sustain are too much for me.

Either you can sustain through his harass until he's OOM and you can safely fight him, or you can kite him.

Ganks also help, I guess. It's not exactly like he's very mobile.

Really, what you have to do is survive him. You're not likely to straight out beat him in lane, but it's very easy to outscale him.

Trundle Try trundle.

Trundle Try trundle.

Also a really good choice. Voli will build tanky, which is hard to deal with. You have better sustain than he does. And he can get out of bad fights very easily with e.

I would suggest someone who could kite him very easily

not all of us are abusers of ranged cancers on top lane.

I dont play top lane I play adc and jungle but I have herd of adcs going top lane

The only problem with an ADC going top is that WHEN they finally get into the top lane "metas" hands they get squshed into oblivion... Unless it's Quinn then she just vaults off you.

Like your volibear scenario...all it will take is one fling and down they go.

But yes the only real way to deal with him is a poker, Gnar is a great top lane poke. Cause he's got the kit for it.

Edit: oops hit reply instead of a separate post lol.

I'm in the same boat as you my friend...

Well what to you play? For me I normal play tanks. So I just get in front of him and let my ADC do free damage to him why trying to keep him a way from her or him. If I'm playing a soft champ(ADC or mage) I try to stay with other and kite him around. This is easy for me as I like a lot of CC in my champs.

I'd say Vayne or Tristana, but that's more non-Meta than anything because they're both Marksman class. Maybe Illaoi or Jax then?

He's really sticky as soon as he gets his q and e. His trade pattern hurts like hell levels 4/5, and his all-in potential is pretty strong once he gets ult. You have to either:

Pick someone who can outfight him Pick someone who can get away from him, even after q-e

If it's someone who can get away, bait the all-in and run when he pops ult. If it's someone who can fight him, who cares?

Also someone who does trades very quickly is good. If volibear wants to keep his w active, he'll have to auto frequently, which will push your lane. Take Darius, for instance. If volibear's w isn't up, you can hit him with an aa-w, and q him as you walk away. If he pops q and e to stick to you, you can kite back and continue to auto. Even though the bite will chunk you, once you proc passive you'll have the upper hand and he won't have q or e for escape.

A good general strategy when you're struggling to deal with a champion is to play as that champion. Do whatever it is that is steamrolling you in lane to other people, and see what they do that works against you.

Pick Quinn top. Trash him so hard in lane that it will take him 30 minutes to become relevant. By then you should be knocking down their nexus towers.

As a melee champion, remember that Voli has a lot of burst but not much sustained damage pre-6. Popping his passive early on will make it easier for the jungler to successfully gank him. His damage falls off a cliff after he uses his W, so trade with him when it's down. Someone who can engage in longer brawls, like Trundle, Olaf, Irelia, etc. excel against Voli. The later two also deal heaps of true damage, which means his usual Sunfire rush doesn't mean much.
