The Riven rework actually makes sense

And it may actually solve her problems. She will not be as powerful all the time and she will actually need to use her entire kit to kill people. I mean the only thing she is losing is her passive and it's basically returning but her kit is being focused around her ult instead of her abilities. The only way she can kill you pre-6 now is to weave AAs in and when she hits 6 she trades something for a stronger ult. I feel like this will make her infinitely easier for Riot to balance.

I play Riven sometimes and her current hit isn't broken, but it certainly isn't healthy.

But that leaves people who are unable to micromanage her attacks into her kit (usually people with higher latency) with a major disadvantage.

  • Riven becomes clunky when trying to add her autos between each cast of her q.

This goes against the recent changes to alistar and azir's skill combo's (made it less latency dependent).

Balance-wise it's more of a pain to do because one factor affects another - for example a buff/nerf to this new passive makes riven's entire damaging kit weaker (reduces overall power) whereas before you only messed with one variable at a time (instead of having cascading effects).

I don't mind messing with her kit but not when you have to have better internet connection to be effective.

Edit: I still don't mind the change to her ult and passive it makes her into a more sustained fighter.
