Archangel's Stat Changes

Okay my ideas is going to keep Archangel's relatively the same but place it as a better option for high tier mana sustain and round off builds better. Do note Seraph's Embrace will receive the same base stat changes as well; everything NOT indicate for both items means that nothing has changed, but i may give a quick overview of the other effects.

Archangel's Staff: Recipe: Forbidden Idol (600g) + Tear of the Goddess (720g) + Fiendish Codex (820g) + 560g = 2700g [total cost unchanged]

Statistics: +40 Ability Power [from 60] +20% Cooldown Reduction [NEW] +100% base Mana regen [from 50%] Other effects: Upgraded Mana Charge; 3% max Mana converts into Ability Power; full stacked mana charge turns Archangel into Seraph's Embrace.

Okay so less AP for Cooldown Reduction; what this means is that Archangels can be bought to smooth out builds so that you can obtain your mana sustain and CDR and then follow up with items like deathcap and void staff - so that Grail has a proper competitor for mana sustain and CDR. Grail shall grant mana regen and magic resist while Archangels will grant more ability power and mana pool instead of regen and a nice active shield when it upgrades to Seraphs. Basically the tl:dr is options for the complimentary mage item.

Hope you appreciate the idea! ~ Stacona

This would not work. This item would replace Athenes completely.

At the very least, reduce the CDR to 10% and increase ability power. The item at the moment is fine, it represents a late game item that's highly cost effective along with ROA if you manage to survive. To make the item build this way is to increase it's overall efficiency and making it worthwhile getting early due to the 20% CDR. This item will ALWAYS be taken over Morellos/Athenes as a starting item because of it's insane potential. AP Mana mid laners ALREADY have two 20% CDR items, tanks have Frozen Heart/Zekes. Keep it that way please.

At this point, the only way to keep this effective is to combine Athenes and Morellos into one item, to provide two paths for 20% CDR and mana. That way, you can choose between either path because they're both effective. People generally take morellos becasue it's cheaper and has that 50% Regen Reduction. Athenes for mana hungry champions.

Since this new Archangels will replace Athenes, you're left with make an item that's a combination of Morellos and Athenes, in order to have an equivalent rather than making Archangels an item standard on EVERY SINGLE AP MID WITH MANA.

After all, you wouldn't create an item that gives Mana, Health, Attack Damage, Health Regen, and Mana Regen for a tank right? Fuck no.

This item gives too many potentially powerful stats for a SINGLE item slot when it ALREADY provides you with a massive amount of Mana and Ability power.

morellos is a cheaper options with grievous wounds; grail will not be replaced and not even close to being replaced because it grants magic resist, regen, and mana return on grail; archangels will be still more for late game and mana pool but does not have the regen, mana return, or magic resist--- but mainly grail and archangels would be perfectly even and comes down to personal preference and exactly what you want to do with purchasing the items

The item at the moment is fine. Honestly, I'd rather a new CDR+AP item.

more ap and CDR items could be good - but this is to grant options between mana, cdr, ap or mana regen, ap, cdr, and magic resist with archangels and grail while morellos will be a cheaper variation of these two items

honestly i think that 10% cdr and then 50 ap would be a much better route

i just feel like with 20% cdr it is on equal level with grail just with different values and stats; like grail is more immediate gains but also great for teamfights for the mana return and magic resist; while archangels is the mana pool side of things rather than regen with more AP and eventual shield active but no magic resist or mana return--- so i just feel it makes the items equals and you can see a lot more archangels, while still seeing a lot of grails side-by-side and there is no 'one item is better' when there is competition between two items; and the CDR and mana sustain items taken care of you can continue on with your other items for better customization builds and see more build diversity--- just 10% cdr i don't think quite satisfies one's CDR means as 20% cdr does

What about giving only 10% cdr and maybe 75% mana regen on Archangels, and then give it 10% more cdr and 25% mana regen when it turns into Seraph's? Imo that would make it more late-game oriented.

Forbidden Idol just helps smooth out the build recipe so you aren't spending a huge chunk of cash with your items and then archangels; but seraphs is a big enough power spike with the shield active alone; not like having 20% cdr and 100% regen out shines grail which is the competition item, grail has a slight immediate power and seraph's embrace will be a better power later on in the game with the AP conversion passive and shield active, overall equals and comes to preference which is what i would like to see is more archangels and have an item to compete with grail but different stats with mana pool or mana regen respectively
