Ally Ult and Summoner Spell timers

Why cant we have something like the display in Spectator mode that shows people's ultimate and summoner spell cooldowns? Why are we stuck with a little green dot that doesn't even have a timer? So much time is wasted asking whether or not someone has Flash or Teleport.
