Please extend Twitch's ult duration

Twitch's kit is not made for resets or to pick a single enemy off. He's about finding that one perfect opportunity and going all out to exterminate the entire enemy team over the course of one ult. His kit just can't sustain multiple ambush uses and kills. He runs out of mana quickly and his W and E are still on cooldown if he tries to go for another kill. Why bother fitting Twitch into the assassin role when other champions do that job so much better?

Twitch is nothing without his ult. It's his most important skill. Five seconds is not enough time to utilize it. Imagine playing Vayne with 60% less time on Final Hour. Imagine playing Kog'Maw but your W is on a 100 second cooldown. It just doesn't work. Add that to BoRK being nerfed and Twitch is really hurting right now.

I also thought his ult was going to get a guaranteed crit on the first target, or something like that. Instead it just got nerfed.

yep, it was an amazing idea because it made him an assassin, but riot removed it because "lul fuck twitch"

It really is though. Stealth to get into good position, W to slow them so they don't run too far, R so you can pick them off outside of their retaliation range, and E for the last bit of burst to secure the kill, then use Q to go back into stealth and reposition with your team.

He's about finding that one perfect opportunity and going all out to exterminate the entire enemy team over the course of one ult.

That sounds more like Miss Fortune's thing since Twitch's ultimate can't do that unless they are all standing in a line. The marksmen changes were done to make Marksmen more diverse. If both Miss Fortune and Twitch had AoE ultimate geared to decimate teams, it would be really hard to balance them against each other as one would always be better in more situations than the other. Twitch is now an assassin ADC who picks off the enemy ADC and then disappears back into the shadows. His ult hasn't even been good for that since the beginning of Season 4.

That's how an assassin works? You kill one person and then sit back and wait for cooldowns. He's the only assassin with range AND stealth and the only assassin that can also be a marksman.

I disagree.

Imagine playing Vayne with 60% less time on Final Hour. Imagine playing Kog'Maw but your W is on a 100 second cooldown. It just doesn't work.

Vayne's ultimate doesn't increase her range and only offers short-lived tactical stealth for repositioning. Kog'Maw's W has almost no base damage and he has less range than most ADC without it active and he has awful mobility.

Add that to BoRK being nerfed and Twitch is really hurting right now.

Then don't build BotRK. It's not even good for assassinating people anyways.

I do think he needs buffs though.

It would be nice if Riot cared about other ADC's besides Graves, Miss Fortune, and Jinx

Spaceman5pff1 votes

Well to be fair to jinx, she is one of the top 3 most popular champions full stop, so they have to keep her up to speed because such a large chunk of the fanbase is into her

BluePolarizer1 votes

they are into her because she is OP.

I'm someone that likes Jinx, and not because she's OP. I just like how her kit feels.

Fun fact: Jinx's first skin was the first time I spent money on this game. That's how much I loved her when I first tried her.

I kind of understand what riot wants him to be but right now his kit doesn't really work with the assassination concept. (Hence why jungle twitch is a complete hit and miss depending on ur level 2 and 3 ganks) what they could do is make his ult duration shorter than it is now with a lower cool down, maybe even just make one insane bolt of damage kinda like ashes ult, but give enough damage to where it will completely obliterate twitchs squishy target. If he gets a kill make the cool down much shorter so he can run around invisible and pick off during team fights or something. twitch is probably my fav adc and I like the assassination concept it just needs to be taken a bit further to be viable.

I just want to see more of his kit power moved from his ult to his e and passive, so he can act more like an adc darius (without the tankiness or 10000 true damage) by usuing his e as an execute.

FizzicallyNothin2 votes

Can't you just kite or flash out of his Auto attacks anyways?

or at least make the cd on his ult lower... either way, heck even both

I like Twitch and have played him a lot and I agree that he does need some buffs to be even close to a meta pick. I have a few suggestions that I think would be an appropriate change to him.

His q used to be pretty good for split pushing when you could back during your time invisible but then they changed that for every champion. I think not only does he need the ultimate duration extended, but that the time added to q activation once in combat should be reduced greatly to 1 second only. Another suggestion would be to give him resets, make it so his q,w,e are completely reset upon killing somebody (has to be twitch that kills them) and his ultimate duration is extended but doesn't go on cd until its over. They would need to give him some base damage nerfs on the e and/or maybe even change it so his e does more damage the lower his target is to discourage people from using it as a damage tool, but more of an execute.

Twitch buffs, make his R have the old duration back OR make his R have sword of the divine's old effect (next three AAs are done at increased speed and are guaranteed to crit) coupled with the effect that pretty much every team fight Assassin has, resets/duration extensions like Master Yi.

For Twitch I'm thinking add the Sword of Divine effect onto his first three autos after ulting then make it so kills and assists while ulting give him 3 more seconds on his ult duration. Add a passive onto his ult making him stealth for 3 seconds upon getting a kill and giving him 10%, 15%, 20% move speed while in his ultimate stealth and he should work really well in the meta since he'll perform his role of nuking teams that are dumb enough to clump up for him.

I played a Twitch game once before the nerfs that Rito called buffs in the preseason, managed to kill the enemy team's Vayne and their midlaner by using Rat-a-tat-tat through their tanks even though I got wrecked in lane cuz of jungle camping. [slayer-jinx-catface]

Only other buff I could see adding to Twitch would be making his passive indicator change in some way when his Contaminate (E) would be fatal to the target like Zed's R does, since Rito gave Kalista a better version of Twitch E with her Rend it's only fair Twitch should be able to tell when a Flash + E would kill versus when it would just waste his flash

Melledoneus1 votes

Not to mention it's the most god-awful auto attack in the game, with the range indicator not even accurate enough to rely on it.

Dunkrius2g1 votes

I was thinking this. You get a kill, his Ult duration is increased for 2 sec or 3 secs extra. Very similar to Yi's ult.

Honestly, I think it makes up for the CD being much lower at early levels now. His laning feels so much better with that change. And forget botrk now, I go Youmuu's into Runaan's into IE/BT and so on, it's pretty fun.

Agreed. Playing Twitch is so god damn fun, it's a shame he's in his current state.

Nothing feels as satisfying as going invisible, suddenly appearing in a crowd of 3+ enemy champs, and going to town with your ult.

FastAsHeck1 votes

Wombo-combo-ing is kind of MF's thing though. I feel like the probelm with Twitch is that his ult encourages a teamfight style while his Q encourages an assassin style (especially now that it resets). They need to figure out what he is. The recent changes make him more of an assassin, and I like that.

peachplumpear1 votes

His ult sucks for teamfighting unless the enemy ADC is right in front of you because it deals decreased damage per enemy hit. That enforces the idea that you're supposed to be using your Q to get into a position where you can snipe their squishies without hitting the tanks.

It also adds 40 AD and 300 range to his attacks, how is that not incredibly good for an assassin, especially now that he can Q reset to get the hell out of there once he kills someone?

squang1 votes

It seems like either twitch isn't for you or you don't know what you are doing. Twitch is an assassin, if you don't like that then go play some other marksman. He is basically the only true assassin in that role and should not be changed to have his kit completely revolve around his ult. Many points you made in your post were uneducated on this champion and I suggest you play him more to find his real strengths, instead of trying to change him to destroy his identity.

doombotMECHA1 votes

that's nto what he's saying at all. he's saying that twitch is stuck between assassin and poison stacks/ult. he feels that a better ult duration would make him a better assassin.

squang1 votes

It shouldn't take 7 seconds to assassinate someone though, I think that 5 is just fine.
