Why are there gold and platinum players in my normal games when I am only silver 5?
I don't understand? It makes the game that much more difficult because those gold players and platinum players just carry their games. I don't like it :(

Play teambuilder or ranked. Your normal game MMR is just too high. Teambuilder uses seperate MMR and so does ranked. This way, you can face easier enemies again without having to play on a different map. I find myself in the same situation where I currently face mainly high diamonds when I soloQ normals. It doesn't bother me because I train for rankeds this way, but what bothers me is that if I premade with my silver friends, we STILL face mainly diamonds and some plats. I wish that 1 man's MMR wouldn't skew the matchmaking of the whole team that much. Those enemies are still around my skil level, while my premades are silver (and I mean REALLY silver... As in 300 rankeds and still fucking silver).
Normal MMR is separate from ranked. I enjoy the occasional diamond in my normals, good practice. Managed to beat a Diamond 1 in lane (and win the game) the other day and it was very satisfying.
A lot of players barely touch normals so they improve in ranked and don't come back to normals for a long time or rarely visit. There are a lot of plat/diamonds out there that haven't really touched normals since they were bronze.
Right now I'm trying to get my normal MMR to 1,500 before I go back to ranked, so I'm doing the reverse :)
This. A lot of higher MMR players do nothing but grind ranked, meaning they're still around mid silver in normals, where the system places you at. In turn, it's possible you have an incredibly high normals MMR, which means you're about on par with the players you're against. Typically it ends out being somewhere in between.
if you don't like it, you could just play ranked. ranked and normal mmr are separated so in normal, you could face anything really.

..Well rip those most likely stat-boosted diamonds then. Damn.

the warwick was so salty too he literally said "Vayne is so broken im diamond and you can still beat me" lol'd
Are you sure? Like, did you check to see what ranking they were? The placement changes that occurred a season or so ago might've slung them into gold or silver..
i dont always play normal, but when i do, i face unranked to silvers.
Mmr are separate between normals and ranked. I play against b1 people because I never ever play normals.
The normal elo is messed up
It'll help you learn though
1 of 2 things. One is that your normal MMR is too high and Two is that those players rarely play normals.
I usually play ranked pretty exclusively. Have a few thousand ranked games, a few hundred normal games. My normal mmr is horrible, my ranked mmr is ~Diamond. Mainly because I try new champs and experiment in normals.
Think of it as an opportunity to play against and learn from a better player. It's a gift!
If this is a normal queue, then it has a separate MMR than ranked queue. It's quite possible that they just don't play normal games much.
If this is ranked queue, then either:
then you belong in gold/plat
