The rework seems to strip him of his "personality" and feeling, so much that if you read his abilities, you can easily imagine how it could be talking about a Malphite rework instead.
The abilities themselves don't sound bad, but they shouldn't be a Galio rework, which is even missing his iconic on-hit/dot shield.
As a Galio user, im disappointed.

I agree. The only thing Galio about Galio now is his Q and W. They gave him Malphites 'ult' which is kinda cool...but left out the mass taunt that should go with it. Also the whole looking like stone instead of onyx really makes it like he should be armored base not MR based. WE. Another paltry design job by rito who can only get half of things right (Taric, Fiora, Soraka...)

New Galio is a complete fuck up.
His new look is so generic. Oh great another big buff looking champion. It's trundle all over again. Riot has a hard time designing champs I think. For such a large game they have really bad aesthetics. I think it stems from them always trying to have there champions fill an "archetype" rather than try and be creative and interesting. This is of course all an opinion.
His personality is still there, there's actually more depth to him this time. While yes, he's a successful guardian, he only gets to be alive as long as there's something magical for him to fight. When there's nothing, he goes back to sleep for centuries, so everyone he knew (besides poppy) is dead. He acts aloof because he doesn't want to grow attached and suffer through losing his friends again.
But don't you see?
All those people that never gave old Galio a chance, never played him and never respected what he was capable of. Those are the people that we at Riot care about when we rework a champion.
You already own some if not all of his skins, so we can't make any more money off of you with this champion anymore. We'll make him generic so more people play him and buy his skins by making his vanilla skin fugly.
And by tearing you away from your old main you'll be forced to find a new one, of whom you'll buy skins for, then we rework them and begin the cycle again!
Yes man whenever someone rework there will some people Feel discomfort But if riot don't rework someone Some people may feel boring. and play this champion too few people. This may make this champion someone to play. sorry mate
