I'm about to leave bronze, but should I, if it means I'll also start getting less ip

Once I hit Silver League, games won't be as easy to win. What motivation is there to climb if you end up losing more games and start getting less ip for losses.

The motivation of slowly getting better at the game. You won't end up losing more games if you constantly try to improve. Playing ranked on the same level for eternity won't bring you far. You should rather stick to normal games then. it will be frustrating to stick 1000 games a season in the same league, so you better learn to improve.

When you get to Bronze 1, you'll actually start seeing games with and against Silver 5 players (I believe I even had one with a Silver 4). That was pretty much how it went that week that I was in Bronze 1 before I went on like a 5/15 record that dropped me back to Bronze 4 in a weekend.

I'm about to hit bronze 2 soon. I got my first win in my promotion series and have faith I can win 1 more with my 84% win - rate Annie.

What you should do is dodge both your promo games to get your MMR up higher relative to your rank while you're still low elo. Dodging doesn't affect your mmr but will keep you in your current division. Once you get it so that you're getting 25ish LP per win and only losing like 14ish LP per loss, then start advancing.

This is your last chance you have to manipulate your mmr before it becomes significantly harder. Do it now or let it be a problem later.

This is actually a pretty good idea. It will be tiresome waiting for the 7 minutes penalty timer though.

You should want to leave Bronze. This way when you apply for a job (any job really) or a college and they look at your MMR and Rank you'll be viewed upon more favourably. You can get scholarships if you get Gold or higher. Bronze is not good for your social status.

There is also widespread social discrimination against Bronze. Its less prevalent here in this forum because we're a protected community but out there... oh boy. You can think of Silver as a middle class status... its not exceptional but it is at least run of the mill.

Plat and higher, they run the entire social system from banks to governments and many of them are powerful, sneering, Jaime Lannister types. Sometimes they recruit Silvers to work their projects and have a chance to advance, but rarely from Bronze.

I mean sure you play a pretty scary Annie at bronze 3 level.

I wouldn't really call that "about to leave bronze"

Already in bronze 2 with a 73% Annie win rate.

Good stuff man. That number will slowly drop to 50 tho :/

I expect it to reach 50 around bronze 1 or silver 5

Don't leave bronze, Bronze is a paradise where you can play whatever you want and laugh at people for being shit.

Yes, it will be hard to move on.

There's really little difference between bronze and silver so you should still be able to climb. People try to climb because they like the competition and they want end of season rewards. If those are powerful motivators for you then there really isn't any reason to play ranked.

In order to avoid leaving bronze, you would have to lose more games now which means less ip. Mathamaticaly, you will always get more ip overall from climbing because the initial gain inip from winning will always outweigh future potential loss in ip.

Good analysis, why haven't I thought of this before :/.

didn't noticed thats how it was typed. Doesn't make sense though. Fairly certain based on his response to my other post that he meant LP. But the confusion we both have now is pretty understandable lol.

The motivation is improvement and end of season rewards for getting to gold, plat, diamond, master, and challenger. Each tier has its own end of season rewards, minus bronze and silver, and this year they're giving higher tier player better rewards, even giving challenger players some kind of physical challenger-exclusive reward (as an example, the hoodie given to challenger only players last year).

Since matchmaking is based on MMR and not rank/division/tier/LP, it shouldn't matter whether you advance into silver or stay in bronze. You'll have a shiny new graphic on your profile, but the player quality will be roughly the same.
