Is the Hextech key system having problems?

Im aware that the keys are suppose to be generally random but its quite peculiar that through out the 2 weeks i've been playing the game i haven't received any keys.

It use to be quite frequent before but bizarrely enough they stopped appearing.

I feel as if the drop ratios have been turned down.

Quite possibly as a way to squander people's money and force them to spend the 125 rp on keys instead of just keeping the option of paying 195 for the chest and keys as an overall better alternative.

While were at it, wouldn't it also be better to make essence purchasable as well? Maybe as ip?

I mean it kinda sucks that people have dis-enchant other skins to obtain them or waste a chest to get them off a summoner icon.

Should probably consider removing champion shards there's over 100 champions and 4 chest categories.

I just think people would be more willing to spend more on this system if champ shards.

I personally spent about 35 bucks trying out this system and got a couple decent skins but man when i got those champion shards that was just plain soul crushing and just discourage me form spending more.

Theres also been several videos of players purchasing several chests for a staggering amount like 100-500 dollars and i find it kinda unfair that they received so many bad skins or champ shards.

Anyhow my main concern is about the drop rates and whats going on with them so please let me know whats going on cause I kinda want to get some skins and enjoy this system :D

I think the end of the month reset thing happens a month from when it was released, not the actual first day of every month. In that case it would make sense that drops are incredibly low at the moment and they'll reset on the 15th, so they should be back up soon. Riot wasn't very clear about how that actually works.

It's every 30 days based on each individual player. So 30 days from when you earned your first key

The chances of you getting a key fragment are reduced for each key fragment you have gotten in the past days, resetting every 30 days. I am guessing the chances go something like this: when you perform well enough to be eligible to get a key fragment, your odds of getting a key fragment are 1/(2+x), where x is the number of key fragments you have gotten since the last reset. I have gotten 12 key fragments in the last period. I play way too much, and now I have a 1/14 chance of getting a key on a win. With how much I suck at this game, that means I will get one key fragment in the next 30 games.
