Kleptomancy: Honestly just nerf mana potions and remove mana regen from looted biscuits

They are what is truly breaking the rune. It allows Gangplank Ezreal to have exponentially increased lane staying power. The health potions and elixirs are fine, but the original intention behind both these champions' laning phase designs was for them to have safe ranged poke gated by their early mana caps.

But with looted mana potions restoring a whopping 100 mana and biscuits restoring 15% of missing mana, they almost never have to worry about mana issues at all.

If mana potions either gave only 50 mana or just didn't exist at all and biscuits didn't give mana regen as well, they would be alot more manageable to lane against and not just completely dominate the early game with infinite Q's.

The addition of item 2033 was already pushing the limits of previously mana gated top laners. At least Pantheon can still run OOM while spear-chucking even with Corrupting potion. But Gangplank was given a free pass with Kleptomancy.

How about removing kleptomancy from the game?

Yeah, laning phase should be decided on skill of the players not a fucking slot machine.

Total respect, my broski.

Just the remove the fucking rune from the game. Plain and simple.

Or better yet, revert the preseason update because all it did is make the game worse.

Its rng. There are ways around this playstyle and people have shown countless ways to punish them for going for klepto proc early.

In the end if the champion is really the problem then just nerf the interaction of those champions or make a ranged counterpart. There are only a few champions that can efficiently use klepto and I dont think they need to be punished cause a few champions are "over performing" with it.

No other champion is super reliant and overbearing due to mana drops.

I have my counterpick that works sure, but that doesn't mean it's not overly oppressive.

I dont think mana pots are over agressive when they have to constantly burn mana to get those procs. The fact that it is rng outweighs the "overbearing" aspect of klepto. RNG is such a huge setback and the only thing that can really make worth having is reliability. You dont take klepto unless you know you can get it off constantly otherwise there is not point in taking it. The champs who use klepto have ok or great laning phases but take a bit to ramp up and so klepto will usually help close that gap.

It's not burning mana if you aren't actually burning mana. And that's the issue.

The overbearing aspect of Klepto is how it enables previously mana gated champions to ignore their mana gating to continue harass.

You know why GP was never an issue before? He was always the asshole who Q'd you every chance he got. Only difference was back then he had actual mana gating and alot of people could outsustain the damage with kit sustain plus dorans shield/cloth 5.

Klepto isn't making GP play any more aggressively than he did before. All it's doing is making him be able to continue his safe poking even more than before.

If Pantheon could proc Klepto on his Q's I 100% guarantee you he would because the only thing holding his Q spam back, as was what was holding GP back, is his mana gating.

My suggestion for Klepto is just make it a flat amount of gold/hp/mana return to remove randomness, but it would only proc upon landing a skillshot. It would be a little more niche (since some champs don't have skillshots), but would fill a nice role and it wouldn't reward bad play IE Ezreal just tossing out a random Q that doesn't even hit or GP using it in his braindead way. Depending on how the balance works out you could even work something in like reducing the cooldown of the skillshot used to proc it.

Then scrap Glacial Augment and drop something else in to fill any voids that are left.
