Mordekaiser goes below Urgot tier with these changes

First of all, Morde is my first and favorite champion since season 1. I decided to give Riot the chance when they said this rework is coming, although I was doubtful seeing their previous reworks. Unfortunately, my doubts were proven right beyond my wildest imaginations. So forgive me for (justified) rage that ensues.

In short lines:

-Shield generation now scales with max HP but is lowered to 30% vs minions.

-Nerfed damage on every skill except ultimate.

-Lower HP costs but reduced HP regen

Okay, so Mordekaiser is now punished for building damage. Not only he will deal less damage than before, but also AP won't help his shield generation. Seems you have forgotten one thing. IF HE DEALS LOW DAMAGE AND HAS NO CC AND MOBILITY, HE CAN SIMPLY BE IGNORED. Really, Riot. Do you even play your own champions?
Wait, scrap that question. DO YOU EVEN PLAY GAMES AT ALL? You say you want him to be 'a slow metal tank that you can kite'. Since you lack basic video game knowledge, let me educate you. A 'tank' is someone who draws threat from enemies. They do so by being a presence they can't ignore, either by being very disruptive (like Nautilus or Sion) or being slow and/or kite able but dealing huge sustained, usually AoE damage once they get in range (like Garen and Mordekaiser).

If you take away Mordekaiser's damage, he has nothing. He has no presence at all. He'll be squishy as hell if he builds AP because of how terrible his shield is, which is even worsened now that it's 30% vs minions. 30% AND NOT IMPROVED WITH AP?!?! ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? He won't even be able to survive lane with this shit.

Mordekaiser is dead with these changes. He will either be a ignorable wall of meat with zero presence if you build tank or a squishy, immobile melee range caster who deals subpar damage. FUCKING URGOT WILL BE LEAGUES ABOVE MORDEKAISER IN TERMS OF USEFULNESS. Because at least if you ignore Urgot your carry is most certainly dead - you can Zhonya's or QSS Zed's burst, but you can't QSS enemy team around you. Simple as that.

Please, Riot. I beg you. I drop on my knees and beg you. Do not make these changes. Current Mordekaiser is still viable. Spellvamp - Rylais -Liandris already make him that tanky sustained damage dealer you want him to be. Do not destroy him. If these changes go through, you might as well refund everyone and delete him. Because at that point, I'd rather have Eve'd Eve, Olaf'd Olaf and Urgot together in my team than Mordekaiser.

Oh, and there obviously had to be compensation for lowered HP costs, so his regen is lowered too. Real classy, Riot. Good job on destroying one of the best champions you had. Keep playing your LeeSin Zed Thresh Gnar people, because Riot will eventually come for your non-flashy champions.

I'll add to main post.

-Lower HP costs but reduced HP regen

And, while I certainly hope this does not go to live because Gunblade-Rylai-Liandri's Morde is now perfectly viable in right team comps and even more fun than DFGkaiser, sad thrush is that most of PBE changes go to live, no matter how severe community backlash there is. Except for LeeSin, of course.

Dude...I think you are overacting a little bit. First off, his shield gen against minions has gone up. It used to be 17.5% with the current passive in game right now, it is now up to 30%

He also lost the whole, my shield always decays thing, now it stays up, even in battle which it didn't before.

He finally got the speed boost he has been needing since forever, and his health cost aren't insane anymore, hell, now I can actually maybe skip out on buying hextech (maybe) as for the lost health regen, whatever, I start with a bead anyway. Also, based off the way you build, late game, he is going to be even tankier then before, which is what I personally like. Yeah, he is losing damage, but .05 and .1 aren't really going to make him Urgot tier. I think you might be overreacting a bit.

1.) It used to be 17.5% of damage dealt. Now it's 1.33% HP (Q), 0.33% HP (W) or 1.33% HP (E). Also, it scales with HP, not AP, which brings a very important problem. Tank Mordekaiser can simply be ignored because of his lack of CC or damage. AP Mordekaiser won't even be able to survive getting close, and even if he manages to he'll deal less damage than before. This change alone will break him.

2.) It stays up in battle but you generate much less than before.

3.) That speed boost is super-situational. With how much he lost I think he'd at least deserve a reliable way to get in range,

4.) HP costs have gone down but so has the base HP regen. Because they HAD to compensate somewhere, right?

Again, small damage loss won't make him Urgot tier. But shield change will. Tank Mordekaiser is a tank without damage or CC - a tank who can not do a tank's job. Only viable way to play Mordekaiser is damage, and that build is what greatly suffers with these changes.

My personal problem with Mordekaiser wasn't the damage, it was the fact that I could never close the gap to ulti the ADC after I W'ed the initiator. You might be right, damage Mordekaiser might be done, but for how I play, more so being an outright threat to the squishiest and most important target, the added shield gen especially late game when getting full shield means little will more then compensate for how I play. But that is just me. We will see when released.

So, this is your logic;

Starting with ~Sub-Optimal to average damage ~No Gap closing potential ~No Crowd Control

To

Ending with ~Garbage damage ~Slight gap closer with speed buff ~No Crowd Control

You've just encompassed the very thing we're trying to solve, essentially taking two steps back after taking a step forward. How is giving Morde a speed buff for slashing his damage potential not atrocious? The integrity of hit kit was survivability by building into damage, not tankiness. That's like saying, "Well we want Malphite to remain an unstoppable force, so we're slashing his R damage down to .5 scaling from 1.0 and replacing the damage on his Q to a percent scaling slow with armor". The integrity of malphite is building tanky whilst doing enough damage to go noticed in a battle. He doesn't benefit building tanky to be a tank, he benefits building tanky damage to be a tank while doing damage.

EDIT: Meh forget what I said, I got a few things wrong but I don't really bother to come back and fix them, I am not in the mood to. I really really love this guy. Just keep him in at least on a viable level Riot, please it's really not a lot to ask.
