how the hell does honor work?

i havent had a change since the start of the season, where i got honor level 3 almost immediately.

i played for month and received honors regularly, but nothing happened.

then suddenly within two weeks, i got two checkpoints.

now there hasnt been movement again for quite a while.

edit.: i received no restrictions at all at any point during... well 9 years.

lol dont worry I was honor 4 last season played over 500 ranked games, attitude or chat patterns havent changed a bit to this season. Im currently sitting at my second dishonor level 0. They dont care about honors anymore, I feel like its all chat based. Rito just trying to hound the kids who flame the feeders (me lol). They also banned my old name of UncleSamsLeftNut after 11 months of having it :(. Everything getting so PC I hate it. But hey I deserve all these bans and stuff, love the game, just saying, If you cant handle the heat stay out the kitchen. I call it how I see it, words hurt, even if its truth if it makes me feel bad it must be wrong.

When you finish a game without any dishonorable conduct detected, you get honor. If you get honored after a match, you get a slight boost. If everyone honors, everyone gets a slight boost.

If dishonorable conduct is detected, even if its not major or triggerring a punishment, honor gets greatly slowed.

True

Some people don't even know that they lose honor without even knowing it. If you say something toxic and someone reports it you can lose honor points even if its not enough to receive a punishment.

Are we sure its a loss of points and not a lockout/slowdown? I know it takes longer, but i dont recall anyone officially saying how (specifics are generally kept hush)

Well it could be a slowdown but a slowdown is esentially a loss of points since you are missing out on points you would of got if you were not slowed down. But Riot never gives the full details in how their math works on stuff like that...they keep it secret so people cant abuse it.

im rarely even typing anything non game related in games at all. id say my behaviour has been pretty consistent so far, and im getting honored in games.

its just that the increase of honor level has been wildly inconsistent. it really doesnt explain why the honor level doesnt move for month, and then suddenly twice in two weeks, and now not at all over the last month.
