Probably a stupid idea for Thresh but..

Can we incorporate something for his lantern, the thing that pulls team mates out of their stupid over extensions, either it be to destroy it or have enemies travel on it somehow, he has ZERO risks he can take.

All other supports 'power' (Idk what to call it) has a penalty or a risk

Bard's portal can have enemies travel through it + his ult can affect his team mates in a negative way.

Soraka's heal is punished by sacrificing her own health

Braum's ability to jump infront of team mates makes him the target over the original target.

Blitzcrank can pull in the wrong target and set his team up to get aced.

And just think of the rest of the supports, I think all of them have risks, but Thresh there's nothing you can really do wrong other than not ward or not throwing out your lantern for your team mate, but then again no other support has an ability like that to save your team mate from over extending dozens of times a game.

EDIT: Also all supports have a solid counter in lane phase (Soraka + Ignite, Blitz + Sivir and or support with stun like Leona or Alistar, Braum + Vayne and or Morgana, etc) while the only thing really capable against Thresh is Lulu

I actually like the idea of having the lantern be enemy targetable to be destroyed, gives it counter play, and forces allies to click it quickly or you could lose the advantage.

Thanks.

I just dislike Thresh hugely and is why I hate playing bot lane roles.

i don't see why not doing this, bard's journey can, thresh usually throws lantern closer to his allies than enemies. it would create a more interesting enviroment

yes, this.

No, because Thresh must be played in the LCS.

What's sad is that is probably why he has no solid counter mechanic.

Dude Morgana sup shits all over thresh

Yeah but Thresh can still pull team mates out of stupidity.

Or allow enemies to pick the lantern, that would allow for baits (from thresh's side) and counterplay (from the enemy)

It'd be nice if his lantern gets destroyed, he loses a few stacks of soul. It makes sense thematically, and it also beefs his ability to use it to check bushes or collect souls from safety.

i think that if this was implemented, thresh players (in solo q at least) would use the lantern a lot less. i think the idea of allowing enemies to grab the lantern makes more sense and it's more dynamic, it allows for bluffs and allows for the enemy to have some kind of counterplay to it

That's actually a very good idea and completely sensible. As long as it took like 3-4 hits to destroy.

Thanks
