In ARURF, Elder Dragon may as well be the enemy nexus.

I'm seeing a new trend that I'm not sure is healthy. With how valuable the dragon and baron are now, I've had numerous games where people just... give up. They'll just vote to surrender, or if that doesn't work even go AFK. After we get a dragon, certain champs are just straight up godlike. Unkillable even.

Yes it makes the games faster but if a majority of people feel as if the game is over before the game is ACTUALLY over, is that a net positive?

Dragons and Baron buffs are only making URF worse. Unless someone at Riot thought that enemy team that can win these objectives needs even more power to snowball.

I usually go afk at lvl 7-8, when I'm more than certain noone in my team can shut down eve/hecarim/or other OTP main. Being a walking frag as they farm kills is no fun. Even in URF.

Aside from being rather demoralizing, the elder dragon is incredibly powerful. It gives a true damage buff+huge stat buff that doesn’t go away upon being lilled, it gives overall permanent stats and power, it makes it easier to take second elder dragon as well as baron, it gives huge amounts of exp, and it gives a ton of gold.

It’s all around too powerful. And then if you include the kills that the winning team gets while you try to stop them from getting elder, the game snowballs out of control. In a fight between two even teams, getting one elder will lead to a stomp.

A day or two back I had a challenger 256 lp player on my team who went 5/16 and gave up pretty early on. It sucks.

Yup. It doesn't add anything to the gameplay - destroys it, even.

This urf has been nothing but a elder buff simulator. Get elder win game. Remove elder, give us bans, profit.

In my experience the game is over when you lose control of the waves. In the vast majority of my games, I've noted that one team or the other starts to take and maintain control over the game almost without recourse once the first towers go down. I think it's because of the cannon - they don't have an option to reset the lane because the opponent is back to lane almost as fast as they are. Once the minion momentum is against you there seems to be a less than 10% chance of coming back.

eh, i don't see huge swings of "one team got it, now it's over" the way baron does in regular gameplay. seems to me the more detrimental things happen early in the game, if you have poor lane assignments, one or two champs just get turbo fed and make it impossible to mitigate. they're at your inhib towers so quickly.
