@everbody. Who is down to lend a hand with new player experience?

To many folks abuse free accounts / throwing games to get to a range to abuse newbies. Not everybody inherently has friends who play to help them out. Vs AI apparently is a mess due to Bot AI accounts.

So, Solution. Lets step the fuck up as a community. Actually use the boards to organize and assist folks who come here looking for help. Its not hard to use custom games with experienced folks who are willing to help new folks get mechanics and learn the game.

Hell making some old Allstar style "newbies only" matches are doable. Team balance is a lot easier in strings of games where you keep the same 10 players as well + outliers are easy to identify.

So yall, Who would be down to help strangers?

Should the mentor be a certain rank so that he/she doesn't spread false tips/knowledge to newbies? I totally support the idea btw.[slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

I'm down. I think I can provide decent knowledge to new players

I mean I had a friend that started playing league, an he quit cause other people in the game on his team harassed him while he love the playstyle of 2 champions.. Riven and Katarina so my friend ended up quitting the game after being autofilled to jungle, having no idea how to play the role as Riven.. Since he would only play Riven and Katarina..

He quit in middle of that game, an told me he wasn't going to play league of legends again cause he doesn't like the fact he was being harassed and etc by players that are not new to the game.. an said he was going back to playing other games like WoW.

As for the AI Bot system.. Facing Bots can only do so much, which is why I don't even bother playing Bots when trying to learn a champion I don't play often for example Vladimir. So I would play Vlad vs Real Players and get punished for my mistakes vs Playing against Bots they do not. In doing so if im doing poorly I get Flamed by enemy or teammates saying You are X Rank and you should be good with all champions or they say you are boosted ..

When there are players with Millions of Mastery Points on a Single Champion that are so hardstuck they can't even reach Gold. vs Me a Player willing to play 90% of the Champions in the game.

I'm down to help newbies whenever. If you want to throw me on a list of helpers or something, or if a new player sees this and wants an experienced player to show them the ropes, just add me.

If that's your play, I would suggest you make a discord for it. Organize some people who will be down for training the newbies, and let them set up some 5v5 custom games. one or two experienced players per team, and 3-4 newbies. And just talk to them in the discord with tips and stuff.

Since jungle is probably the toughest role for newer players (when does smite even unlock again?) the experienced players can take on the jungle role, and more or less afk farm it out while the newbies learn all the basics. It'd also pay to do it this way cause as they start getting better, you can better control the situation when explaining the importance of vision, jungle ganks, etc..., and start showing them the jungle role at its own pace as they start getting more used to the game. No need for duo top.

You'd get more or less the complete package: some lectures on the basics, the ability for the veteran players to better look into and coach people in small groups, teambuilding, and the importance of good communication.

The more volunteers, the better, since everyone plays at different times.

I mean league is like all skills, whether if you're playing soccer or learning the piano, in a cooking class or doing academic research, it's about the attitude and the grind, that's all there is to it. The key to good mechanical play is knowing your opponents, i.e. their skills and their player level. Blitz skills: hook, knock up, silence, speed. Lissandra skills: dash, shard, root, stun/invulnerability. Aphelios skills: long range skill shot, root, minion wave poke, hard engage with crescendum, ultimate he'll use either to engage or to chase down. etc. And then there's player level at low elos players are just gonna throw a skillshot and hope for the best, at high elos they'll probably just walk up making you think they use it and then use it after you've exhausted everything.

If you are wanting some areas to look into keywords such as:

  1. dodging/landing
  2. kiting
  3. csing/vision
  4. predictions

Are some of the micros you'd be looking to learn. Once you get a bit more familiar with the game, like once you get to silver/gold you can start looking at learning about macros.

I guess the step beyond that is punishment. Playing against masters/ challengers even diamonds is pretty tough because they punish you hard for even slight mistakes. If you waste a flash they will gank you, if you use your only mobility ability for something else, they'll immediately all in you. If you disappear from lane to ward they will remember it, if your jungle pathing is too predictable they'll ambush you at your next gank. At high elos even a single minion xp missed 5 waves ago, or not remembering twisted fates last picked card can kill you. So yeah, that's something to look forward to.

How about Riot does something about the smurfing problem instead.

Also custom games dont give xp, so new players would never level up.

Problem is, you get more out of macro than mechanics. Unironically, macro takes a lot longer to learn and is nigh impossible to teach.

Hey! I'm sorta? a new player myself, but I'd love to help/just play with other newer players. I think something like this would've been super helpful when I was just starting out. Feel free to add me and hmu to play!

mailbox head1/15/2020, 10:02:20 PM1 votes

You can add me; I'll gladly help newbies learn the game.

There's a catch: I'm currently taking a break from the game, perhaps a permanent one (fed up with the damage perma-meta, riot not caring about the script-fest coop vs ai has become, and riot not caring that smurfs and boosters ruin the game).

But yeah, if you see me logged in, I'll help you.

Feel sorry about you but i create new acc over and over till i reach plat then i do it again. Playing atm around plat daimond is extreme boring and frustrating for me due to this dmg meta and like you said "range vs mele". So i create new acc to have fun with game insted of tryhard for ...nothing because we have no end seson border, skin gold + and wow ICON XD Thats end with me 30:0 kills games till level 30 and making a lot of enemy not happy coz im "smurfing" I cant buy 30 lvl acc to play ranked insta because this is illegal. Blame Riot for this they making this toxic not "smurfs"
