Help Gold 1 cant win a game

So I am getting better over time, and I am kinda stuck bouncing between gold 2 and gold 1. I have been promoted to gold 1 over 5 times already (8 to be specific). I have yet to win a game in gold 1 in 21 games. I do not try and blame my team as that doesn't get me anywhere. I am struggling to figure out how to overcome certain scenarios in my games.

  1. How do I overcome no front line team? We had a thresh and 4 squishy characters
  2. How do you deal with a troll? We had a jungler who told us flat out he wasn't going to gank ever. One play we were getting dived bot and he was at blue buff as we were red side. We got the 3 of them to below 200 hp (everyone was like lvl 7) but on the mini map I saw our jungle was close. When I watched the replay he ran to our tribrush and sat there from when the dive started as they got in turret range and he never came out of the brush. This would of been an easy 3v3 since they got so low. I don't get why he didn't help.

Thanks

In the same boat as you, let me know when you figure out how to get over the hump.

Depends on your no front line team comp, really. You have to recognize your win condition with that team and what you can and cannot do with it.

Most the time if you’re playing a squish team into a team with an actual frontline, you have to win the early game and have that carry you on. If you don’t, you’re kinda screwed.

For trolls, they usually have to get triggered first for them to start throwing. If they randomly start the game saying they’re running it down, that’s just unlucky. Just never type, never ping except for enemy movements/MIA and OMW’s. Pinging for ganks or question marking your team is asking for the troll to come out and int.

Even when your team starts flaming and being dumb, focus on yourself. Don’t try to type to them.

For other tips, a good plat player typically has above 6+ average CS and decent macro. Objectives > kills, when to rotate, etc. Just watch some vids and you’ll be fine.

Trolls happen, gg next.

Team squish verse tank? Hopefully get early game lead otherwise combination of splitting and trying to get picks. Direct 5v5 obviously probably a lost fight so you want to avoid those.

For me it took a few games to get on a streak but I never got demoted out of gold 1. Just win 1 lose 1. I would say playing consistently helps a lot. Plus idk.... just playing better than the average player in your games I guess. Like... gold 1 games weren't exactly hard for me, but they weren't like super easy. I was obvioulsy around that skill level so it just took games and some consistently to hit a streak and get promoted. If you keep going back and forth it's because you not quite high enough skill level to stay at gold 1. What do you need to improve on to move up a bit? I am unsure obviously as we pretty much the same rank and both have a lot to learn. But if you want to stay a rank and move up I know ultimately it's about improving and playing better. When you hit a skill wall it's because of your play game to game. But once you improve that wall goes away and a new one forms until you improve again.

Trolls in champ select should be dodged anyone picking something they have a below 40% wr in if you see that in 2 roles consider dodging, If you have 3 autofilled jungele mains or 3 autofilled midlaners Dodge. if you have an autofilled jungeler consider dodging if you have 2 people first timing a champion in ranked dodge if you see people lock in nunu and threathen to ruin ur game dodge, its pretty simple if you ever find them in champ select and you will every champ select have to check op.gg's to ensure ur not getting trolled.

Now lets say ur ingame, now it gets interesting and what to do depends on multiple situations which i will showcase

Scenario 1: your adc is 0/3 in lane and says gg go next and spams the surrender vote At this point you should mute your adc and tell him its winnable Now, there is various things he can do but that is generally the best way to get a losing adc to try to play well or atleast not afk or run it down.

Scenario 2: your toplaner gets in to a discussion with ur adc, ur adc is complaining that he is never there for teamfights but ur toplaner is playing a splitpusher ur toplaner gets angry and says ok ill troll and starts grieffing, Example of this farming ur jungeler's entire jungle, running it down mid, doing things on tilt , The thing to do here is tell ur toplaner that the adc doesnt know what he is typing about and to just try his best for you and mute the adc before typing all this,

Scenario 3: your jungeler threathens to afk the game because everyone is constantly flaming him The best thing to do here is tell your jungeler to mute everyone and just play to his best ability

Scenario 4: your adc toplane and jungle want to surrender, they have completely given up on the game and simply wish to open mid The best thing to do here is to tell them to all buy 1 pinkward and put it on the map and tell them to just try even if its a loss

Ofcourse every scenario is different, but here is 4 examples of things that you can do, despite me advising to dodge trolls if you see them in champ select i still felt the need to give 4 scenarios, and ofcourse there are not fool proof, someone will keep running it down despite you telling him to mute all and just do his best, they will not work for every single case but in some cases they do and will help and can make a game actually winnable.
