A question about Garen

If you changed his passive so that it doesn't get shut off by jungle creeps, is he a viable (ish) jungler now?

I would say no, i think you would need to up the damage on his E (at least its damage to creep) or else it would take him forever to clear early game. Not to mention his ganks would be very limited and most of the time they will either run or flash out since he has no gap closer or hard CC.

Not saying it cant work, i have actually done jungle Garen in ranked due to miscommunications in champ select. We won but not because of my ganks which were almost all failures, the ones that succeeded required me to flash Q.

Exactly this. Unless you plan to farm the jungle until lane phase has ended there is no reason to pick Garen over almost any other fighter. You really need the CC.

The passive would be like a constant health pot...pretty OP in the jungle. His clear would be fine if you build damage first (lizzard).

I don't think its quite that strong, at least not early. More like half a health pot.

He's viable in the way that there's nothing wrong with it dude. He's slow. Tanks are slow in the jungle these days anyways though. It doesn't have anything to do with his passive though. His kit is just weird for jungling. Not the best for ganking. He works. It's just not a strong pick.
