Varus wears blight pants. Maokai actually has a sort of loincloth now. Zac is amorphous, he can't wear clothes. Malphite's clothes shed when his passive is on CD. Nocturn doesn't have a lower body, so it's ok.

Like how Blackfrost Anivia is the possible canon version of Anivia - should she fail to defeat the evil that is corrupting the Freljord - I view Omega Squad Teemo in a similar light, at least in terms of his cold and detached personality.

Though I wouldn't say the visual look itself is a possible canon version of Teemo. The advance weaponry that Omega Squad Teemo is displaying is a little different from the usual technology you would find on Runeterra.

K let's compare the numbers that Riot will look at: How many people will drop the game over the removal a cigar because of "stifling creativity"? Maybe 10, and that's a stretch. How many people will drop the game if made illegal in regions like China because of keeping that cigar in the game: Millions.

Also keep in mind, it wasn't iconic to his character anyways. You never saw him actually smoke it, it was just there. It was in "New Dawn" video and on his splash art for a little while. That's it.

Similar issue if not the exact same issue. Its generally a negative influence on on creativity by limiting possible ideas. Culture has positive impact as well but certain censorships is unnecessary and really should have the core reason reevaluated.

Dude, I sometimes think the U.S as a nation sometimes sways towards being too sensitive to what others believe(DAMN HIPPIES!!! J/k), but there is absolutely no way I am going to ask millions of Black Americans to be okay with a white champion with a Southern accent, called Rhett Butler, the Master of the South, that enslaves only Karma and Lucian (Karma might not be black, now that I think about, but that doesn't matter here) and forces them to do whatever he wants. Your attitude here would be like a butcher in New York, when a Jewish customer appears and asks for beef, you say "All I have is pork" and when this man leaves, you tackle him, grab a slice of ham and force feed it to him while you scream "RETHINK YOUR BELIEFS!" That isn't the the same scenario as the Graves cigar though. Censoring all of a certain meat product is several steps above editing a splash art. The Graves cigar is something NOT necessary to the character for it to exist. In fact, the only place it existed is the previous splash art and the A New Dawn. Granted, it adds something cool to the character, but this one cool detail is not worth fighting for when you can remove it.

Alright, so bone karthus had to be hidden in China because of cultural taboos and showing exposed bone being illegal. So they modified the game to be legal in that particular country. So what? Doesn't that mean they had to end up being MORE creative? I mean, they made two separate version of the character, one fine most places, one fine in China. I mean, I don't think any gaming company, other than dealing with the hassle of having to recode/reskin/whatever-the-hell-they-do bone characters, minds doing it too much. The possible profit gain from the billion people in China is worth a little extra time spent in the redrawing a character. Also, if you are really surprised that the long time Communist nation is stifling creativity, you really need to check a history book.

From our point of view, yes, it is. Put to the Chinese, it's against the law and it might....might (I don't know really) make sense from their perspective. As for Mundo, well, he is mentioned as a mad scientist DOCTOR, and what better way to show that then with a medical syringe injected in his body, showing that he has tested on himself? My guess that's why Mundo is ok.

I would compare this with Wolfenstein: The New Order. Bethesda had to remove all the Swastika's from the game and use the Wolfenstein logo instead. The reason for this is the strict laws around Nazi symbols in Germany. Companies adapt to customers, that's how it works. Doesn't every American know that's how it works with all this "free market is the solution to everything"?

Not only this, but there are laws in place to avoid promotion of dangerous activities as cool (such as tobacco and alcohol consumption) to minors. These laws exist to protect minors from being negatively influenced into starting active life changing/damaging behaviors, being nude or partially nude is none of those things.

It was the splash, and no, Riot actually doesn't make alternate splashes anymore. They are striving to improve the cohesion of the game, and having multiple personalities (via different splashes) tears that up. All the splashes they have released within the last year or so have been released to EVERY server around the world, and they are slowly culling out the ones that have multiple versions for different regions.
