Can anyone explain Tahm and how to lane against him?

He literally has infinite pokes and takes 0 damage if u try to engage on him, has some kind of shield and you can't do crap, but i've also seen tahm exploding while being full hp. I don't get it how this shield even works.

You dont. As much as Mordrid made those points, anyone that doesnt have cc is practically fucked, and even if you do you are likely close to him to use it. The main issue is how strong his psuedo-tank stats and his damage is. His passive lasts a long fucking time, and Q never removes all 3 stacks when used to stun (a glaring issue).

The main problem I have with him is how long his passive lasts. If you're a melee champion, often times the only option you have is to not engage ever. Sure makes for some fun and interactive gameplay.

Yeah no, I always thought of the passive's duration as such a pain in the ass, even on release. You had no idea how long it lasted, or no indicator other than the stacks falling off. The duration should lower, and stacks should either rapidly fall off or all fall off completely when not attacking an enemy with stacks.

Tahm was a pain on release. On Dominion, I remember watching this champion 1v1 literally everyone apart from reworked Fiora, while building full tank. God I hated them both.

tahm, while nice a decently tanky, doesn't really have an escape outside of hit ult, so hitting him with tons of cc will pretty much ruin him

as for the shield, let's say you and the enemy laner fight and you lose 300 health during the skirmish, but get ganked on your way back to tower...that shield is now equal to the health you lost during battle within a set time frame. and remains a shield until popped or the ability runs out

Poke. He isn’t all that strong against early poke, so pick a in and out early bully and snowball.

I wanna know what to dodge and when to go all in and what to do when he has his shield up, should i attack or back off? for instance against illaoi i know that i have to dodge her E and then go all in but against tahm i've no idea what to do, if i dodge his lick he just licks again

If at any point he uses his shield, back off til it decays then INSTANTLY go back in. He just gave up a huge portion of his sustain.

As of right now he is almost impossible to poke out of lane his abilities are on such low c/ds he can spam them and never run out of mana. Best thing to do is try to survive against him and farm. Play the tower aggro game and hope he makes mistakes. If not, you're gonna come out behind but if you don't feed him you can eventually outscale him with some champions.

Well, the best tip i can give is to play safe and outscale. If he goes hail of blades, expect a flash engage > stun > eat combo. If he goes grasp, you just basically dont fight him because he'll outregen everything.

His lategame is okay, but he melts under fire and lacks escapes, and due to his tank stats he'll likely be forced to play frontline by his team

you could try Gangplank. Just w his w.

Then he fulls stacks you right after, and you get stunned. Yeah, not much hope to that my friend. lol

Heres my tips:

  1. Whatever you do, DON'T LET HIM GET 3 STACKS ON YOU! As soon as he does, he does far more damage to you thanks to his passive, he can stun you, and of course eat you. It's like Darius, once he gets max stacks, he gets a massive advantage.

  2. If you choose to fight him for some reason, fight him in your minion wave so he can't stun you with his Q, he can of course eat you but at least he can't stun you first.

  3. Pick a tank against him. Although he can beat pretty much anyone top lane, he has trouble finishing tanks since they take so long for him to kill and they have cc and poke to keep him away and prevent him from getting 3 stacks. Examples of good picks are Garen, Sion, Mundo. Keep in mind he can still beat you but it will take much longer allowing you retreat to safety easier. You stop him from snowballing.

  4. Get Adaptive Helm. This item is really good against him because you reduce his passive damage which applies to you every time he auto attacks you or lands a Q on you.

you can get early boots and dodge out on his tounge if you can guess what side the enemy is gonna lead toward then you should damage him in short trades while his Q is down. getting him to E is best because that means that he cant use it to regen and he has to leave lane or die. but straight up fighting him is much like straight up fighting Darius or Jax with his passive stacked. Tahm also has a bug where he cant auto for almost 0.7 -1.2 seconds if he uses e

but what's the cd on his tongue? he spams that all the time and it passes through the minions
